Chapter Twenty-Six
"A boyfriend of yours told me what Jinyang said." commented Wei as she walked beside her niece as she groaned with frustration as the others were waved off to walk ahead of them including a certain overprotective Chessman.
"I don't know what to do with her...I think she is going to do something and I honestly believe she was not kidding. Come on, this Jinyang that we are talking about, who decided to go to the Bahamas because I joined ZGDX and because she had put Ai Jia on the black out list as well because he could not drop everything for her." sighed Yao with a small frown on her lips, because as much as she loved her best friend and considered her to be her sister. She knew her best friend could be childish and impulsive at times...without thinking of the consequences. Granted her best friend has never done anything like what she thinks she might end up doing, however, the only ones in her best friend's family that has actually really ripped into her best friend? Was Mia-Jia and her best friend's grandmother.
"That will be her decision, Bei-Bei. There is nothing you can do to prevent it. Let her make her own mistakes. I for one think it's time for her to fall on her own face without someone there to hold her hand like her family has done with her. It's a lesson we all have to learn sooner or later. I learned it. Yeon and Li-Li have learned it. You have learned it. Now it's her turn." sighed Wei as she moved, curling her arm around her niece's shoulder with a gentle squeeze as she sighed through her nose with a nod of her head.
"I know, Aunty." muttered Yao with a small shake of her head as her aunt pulled her closer to her side while leaning over to kiss the side of her head with a gentle peck. "By the way, have you chosen what your color dress will be for the ball?" she asked with a curious look as her Aunt blinked before snorting with an amused look at her changing the subject.
"I was thinking I am going to go with green. Yeon has chosen his dress shirt to be burgundy as well. Grandfather...his usual gray, ice gray, dark gray or some form of gray. I have no clue about that brat son of mine." laughed Wei as Yao burst into a fit of giggles at her words as she shook her head with an amused look on her face. "And you?" she asked back of her girl as Yao moved tapping her chin with her finger amusing her.
"I was thinking Midnight blue, dark purple or a very dark blood red color. What do you think of those colors, Aunt Wei?" she asked, turning with a thoughtful look on her face as she glanced at the woman as she looked thoughtful as well.
"Hmm, go with Midnight blue. It was your grandmother's favorite color." nodded Wei to her niece as something crossed her face as she looked even more thoughtful.
"It would go with my birthday present to him." nodded Yao as she was thinking of designs of what the dress could possibly look like but glanced at her Aunt as she made an inquiring noise in the back of her throat. "You can find out what I am doing for his birthday gift on the night of the ball." she informed her sometimes nosey aunt with a pointed look.
