Ruby's POV

I heard my alarm clock ring at 5:00, I got out of my bed, made it and did my usual routine. I went into my cupboards, which was stocked with sunflower seeds and sweets. I took a bag of sunflower seeds and started munching on then as I watched the news.

"We have breaking news on the Kanto region news, yesterday there were a large amount of criminals that died of sudden heart attacks, many have claimed this a work of a god, to be specific they have named this new God Kira." The news anchor Akito Hari explained.

I looked at the TV with a spark of interest, I was surprised the department hadn't told me of this, I didn't care much though. I crumpled the bag of sunflower seeds and through it in the trash. I went back into my room to brush my teeth, while brushing I looked at my reflection, my black circles they were quite prominent, well that's what happens when you are tired but you haven't slept ever since THAT incident when I was 10. I undressed myself and took an ice cold shower, I let the shower hit my back like ice shards. I got out and changed into old jeans and a old t-shirt and hoodie.

I looked at the time it read 6:00 am. I decide it would be a good time to head toward Toh-ho University. Soon I mind started wandering towards the Kira case, I started biting my nails, muttering to myself. In thought I bumped into somebody and heard a squeal of surprise.

"Hey watch it!" The girl yelled dusting her skirt off as she looked at me.

"Sorry." I said in a monotone voice.

"I-I uh n-no it was my fault." The girl said noticing it was me she was talking to.

I smirked internally but it was blocked by annoyance as soon as she muttered freak as she left. The kids talked behind my back, not that I cared.

I entered the campus at 6:30 nobody was here just as I liked it. I watched as a lizard was crawling up a wall. I pulled out a sketchbook but I didn't draw I started thinking of ways to find out who Kira was. I wrote a list of things I knew

-Kira kills criminals, has a childish sense of justice, could possibly be student

-supposedly kills without contact

I looked at my watch and realized 20 minutes have gone by and soon the student would start to come. I dusted off my pants and headed to the library I headed in and nodded at the librarian and took a seat at the farthest corner. I looked down at my watch 7:00 am I headed out to walk to my class I felt the stares on me but I just walked.

The first class I had was was math which was incredibly easy.

"Ruby, answer question 2a!" Mr. Senju said.

I answered it flawlessly in my monotone voice. The class slightly shivered at hearing by the coldness. Soon the class ended and the day was soon over. I left for the police department by walking and arrived at 4:30 pm. I went to the desk showed my ID and was escorted to a elevator. As soon as I got off their in front of me was Cheif Yagami waiting for me.

"Chief." I said

"Yes Ruby?" He said with a slight edge to his voice as if I was going to attack him.

"Why was I not alerted of the Kira case." I said.

"Well you see Ruby we were just recently notified, only those in the building knew. But the articles soon went up." He explained apologizing.

"I see." I mumbled while chewing my nails.

"Oh and we will have a conference talking about the heart attaks." the Cheif said.
