Trapped between ghostfaces, the girls formed a circle. Sam's eyes darted around rapidly before she noticed a few bricks sitting under a cart. Handing one off to Noah, Tara and Scarlet and keeping the last one for herself.
Scarlet couldn't help the shaky breath that left her lips as she thought about Chad.
She wasn't allowed to procrastinate any further as Noah nudged her, gesturing for her to raise the brick and prepare herself to throw it at any given moment.
"Oh, Sam." Tara cried out.
Noah swallowed thickly when Sam asked if they were ready.
"I need you to be ready. You ready?"
The Ashwell's mind flashed to Wes. How she wished she would have fought harder; maybe then he'd be alive. Harper would still be alive.
She'd be damned if anyone else died because she just couldn't fight hard enough.
Sam felt Noah nod against her back, Scarlet letting a soft "ready" leave her lips.
Tara didn't respond.
"Look at me." Sam gained her sister's attention.
Tara's jaw clenched, a glare taking over her previously scared look. "I'm ready."
"Come on, motherfucker!"
Gunshots echoed throughout the room before any further moves could be made. The girls ducked, Scarlet reaching for Noah's hand the second the bullets went flying.
A voice attempted to reassure them, "It's okay."
Kirby.
"Stay the fuck back!" Sam shouted at the blonde woman.
"We know it's you, Kirby."
Noah frowned. The possibility of there being three Ghostfaces wasn't low, but she didn't think Kirby was trying to murder them. The woman possibly just saved their lives. She wanted to have faith in their fighting abilities, but Sam was the only one that wasn't visibly injured at the moment.
Kirby stammered, "O-one of them knocked me out."
The blood on her face obviously showed signs of struggle, or at least Scarlet thought so.
Maybe the concussion was getting to her.
"Kirby, stop!" A second voice interrupted.
The woman's gun was raised the second Bailey's voice was heard. The barrel pointing directly past them.
"Get away from the girls!"
"What are you doing?"
"Did you kill Quinn?" Bailey asked, "Did you kill my daughter?"
For a second, Noah forgot who Quinn was. For someone who had lost a child, Bailey didn't at all seem bothered by her death until now. The fact confused her.
She was still mourning Wes' death, but Bailey hadn't spoken a word of Quinn until now. It made no sense.
"Whatever he's been saying to you, don't listen to him. He's probably the killer."
Noah believed her.
"Behind you!"
Or maybe not.
Because as soon as she picked a side, the ghostfaces that darted when Kirby appeared were now back.
Bailey was unfazed by her warning, sending two shots to her chest without remorse as the ghostface stopped behind him.
"Oh, I knew he was weird." Noah grumbled as the man smirked.
