Jeon Jungkook was a liar.
He lied to everyone. Himself included.
He was a typical quiet boy. The one who sat in the back of the class, only speaking when spoken to first. But his quiet nature didn't deter others from noticing his positive attributes too. In fact many wanted to approach him offering friendship or more. They were drawn to his delicate nature, his soft voice that was hardly heard and his pretty face. Though he always hid himself away behind books.
One thing about Jungkook was he didn't want to disappoint others, hated the thought of someone disliking him. That's why when he was pulled to the center of a crowd, a rose held out towards him he accepted it as well as the boy who asked him to be his.
Kim Youngsoo.
Youngsoo was tall and handsome, well liked by all. Top of his class in academics as well as sports. To add more to his popularity was his good nature, laid back and friendly with a good sense of humor. A real Prince Charming. Everyone's crush. Well, everyone except Jungkook.
But standing there where many wished they were with all eyes on him he couldn't find it in himself to reject the confession. Too afraid that if he hurt Youngsoo then he would become public enemy number one. Nobody ever messed with him before, his school life was quiet and undisturbed, that's why he was afraid to say no. So he nodded, took the flower and quickly left.
That was three months ago.
His life changed after that. Quickly becoming the talk of the school, his quiet life turned loud. Lunch time where he'd normally curl up in the abandoned stairwell and read while nibbling on food was replaced with loud laughs and jokes. Boys poking fun and girls gossiping. He supposed it was his own fault, having no courage to reject Youngsoo that day and he wished he could go back and do just that.
It's not like Jungkook didn't try to like Youngsoo, he truly did give it his best effort. But when he looked at him he didn't feel that fuzzy floating feeling or his stomach didn't tighten and his heart still beat the same as any other time. It was nothing like what he read about.
