"Quite

"Quite. Herr Von Siemens faked a chest wound. He then drank the poison, disposed of the container and pretended to die. None of the party guests were likely to examine the wound closely. The deception need only be temporary. And yet, the body I examined today was in fact stabbed." He explained the steps the man took that lead to his death as you were entertained by his deduction skills.

"Herr Von Siemens faked his murder and then was actually killed? What rotten luck!" Lau commented, opposite from you who would have probably been dead if it wasn't for the experiment.

"We can take it a step further. Given how things played out, the killer may have been setting a trap for the Earls." Arthur added as your brother looked up at him.

"What sort of trap?" He asked "Its not clear whether Herr Von Siemens was a knowing accomplice. He seemed to lose all sense of control when he drank, so... perhaps the real killer sold it to him as a practical joke suggesting they 'give everyone a good fright' or the like." Arthur suggested.

"That's right. We never met him before the party, so he wouldn't have anything against us. I think we can therefore assume he was used, and then silenced by someone who wanted to incriminate us." You pointed out as you played with a strand of hair that was close to your eye.

"Indeed, and who would wish to do that?" Jeremy asked as everyone turned to Woodley who backed away. "Wait! Anyone could've put him up to it. Not just me! This makes everybody's alibi worthless!" He exclaimed as Jeremy put a hand to his chin.

"That is true. But you have motive and opportunity. Why should we think you innocent? After all, everyone lies, Mr. Woodley." Jeremy reasoned as Charles walked up from his spot leaning in the wall.

"Say, if he did drink the poison as you suggest that he did, how did he dispose of the bottle? Where is it now?" He asked. "Thats simple enough. He had only to toss it someplace where we wouldn't immediately see it. Like into the fire." Ciel answered simply as Bard pondered.

"That fire was burnin' particularly bright, like it had a lot o' fuel." He said as you remembered Bard asking about the heat of the room.

"With the fire going, we wouldn't see it there, and he could then return to collect it when our attention was elsewhere." Arthur connected the dots "Yes, except, he was prevented from doing just that. By Sebastian." You added as Arthur snapped his fingers.

"That's it! The butler came to tend the fire before the killer could destroy the evidence. That bottle alone could suggest the truth of the crime, and the murderer would lose his alibi. So he panicked. And killed Sebastian as well. He then collected the bottle from the fireplace, and went back to his room." Arthur discussed the events as Woodley began sweating.

"If that's the case then whoever killed him must have the bottle! And I have no such object in my possession. You've already searched me and this entire room, remember?" He shouted as you nodded.
