Being a medic shinobi was no easy task. Especially if that added on to being an S-ranked criminal. Which you were. It's not that you couldn't fight, it just wasn't your specialty. See the pickle you found yourself in? It wasn't necessarily your fault that you ended up like this, but then again, of course you found yourself in this mess.

You were currently camped out in the Nation of the Sand, laying back against a rock that provided you some slight shelter against what was the harsh Suna sun. Then again, even if the sun wasn't out, which it currently wasn't, it was still incredibly hot out. You sighed to yourself, closing your eyes, thinking of your next move, when a sudden dust storm moved in somewhat out of nowhere. You sat up, looking around and covering your eyes from the harsh dust particles that were seemingly flying in every direction. Through the commotion, you saw a figure in the distance... wait, there were two.

There was a hunched-over figure that was moving quite slowly, while the other appeared to be a normal-looking human. They way their orange and black hair colors came into view from the sandstorm made you stand up and get into a defensive pose. You swallowed the lump in your throat and narrowed your eyes as the figures stepped ever so closer, matching paces; it was painfully slow.

"(Y/n) (L/n)," the orange-haired male stated. You squinted your eyes at the characters, noting the piercings that littered one's face and the scorpion-like tail that the other possessed. Just who are these guys? "The Akatsuki requires your assistance," he continued. "And just who are you?" You questioned. "Who we are isn't important," the hunchback commented. "We would appreciate it if you cooperated with us, and came with us." "What's in it for me?" You got out of your defensive pose and stood up normally, the wind from the sandstorm depleting from the air. "You are a medic shinobi, no?" Your gaze went to the orange-head, to which you nodded cautiously. "And an S-rank criminal.." the other added. "Think of the Akatsuki as a place of sanctuary.. A place you don't need to run from anymore." Your eyes narrowed again. They were right. It was hard to fight off various nations' guards and shinobi that wanted your head, those of which are much more skilled in the fighting department than you as a whole. "Answer me two questions then," you stated. You didn't want to jump into this organization right away without knowing at least something. The hunchback squinted his eyes in annoyance. "I don't make bargains," He stated, but he was cut off by the clementine. "Sasori." He said it in a commanding way, and that of which this 'Sasori' listened. "What is it?" You decided that you were going to call this guy clementine because... well. Look at him. "Your names. And what is this organization...?" You raised an eyebrow as Clementine explained what the Akatsuki was. Bringing peace to the world huh..? While being protected? Interesting.

"And... Pein," Clementine responded. The other paused before responding and closing his eyes. "Sasori." You hummed at the answer. "Fine. It's not like I have anything better to do," you sighed as you bent down to gather the few things you had laid out at your campsite. "Very well," Clementine stated matter-of-factly. "Follow us." And with that, they turned around, not bothering to wait for you. They knew you'd be following anyway.

How in the hell did you end up in this situation?

Pein finished introducing you to your new 'family,' as he called it, AKA, The Akatsuki. Such a lovely family of S-ranked criminals! You gulped and looked around at the group, taking note of how different everyone looked. Deep down, you knew you were nervous as all hell, but how else would someone react when being in the same room as around ten criminals who could kill you in the drop of a hat?
