4.1: Leah's Final Match

Ellie's POV: 16th May 2028 

Today is Leah's final match against Man United. Chelsea has won the league in their second last match, so it's between Arsenal and Man United for second. I wake up to Leah already up. I go downstairs and see Leah standing looking out the window. 

I walk over and wrap my arms around her. "Hey baby, you ok?" I ask, kissing her neck. "Yeah, just nervous. It's my final match and I want to get the win for the fans" said Leah, turning around. "And you will, baby. Go out there and show the who you are" I said, kissing her. "I will" said Leah. "Now, you sit down and I'll make breakfast." I said. "I'll get the boys ready, it'll keep me focused" said Leah, kissing my cheek.

She goes to get the boys done while I make her usual porridge and smoothie. I plate it and she comes in with two boys in Arsenal kits. I smile and kiss their heads. She places them in the highchairs and we sit down to eat. I feed the boys bits of our food before I clean up.

"I have to go. Mum should be here soon to help" said Leah, kissing me. "Go. Good luck" I said, kissing her neck. She leaves. Considering Chelsea already won the league, I don't really have to be there. I want to be there for Leah and Sonia and the players understand. 

I go get ready. I am not wearing an Arsenal kit, so I wear a pair of jeans, a white top and vans with red laces. I curl my hair and do light make up. I head downstairs and hear a knock on the door. I open the door and see Amanda. "Hey Amanda, come in! Just getting the bag packed" I said. "You look good and oh my the boys look cute" said Amanda. "They do. Le got them dressed" I said, smiling. "Well, they are adorable" said Amanda. She smiles and we get everything ready before we put the twins in the car. 

Once we get to the Emirates, we park and head inside. I carry Theo and Amanda carries Levi. We find our seats and sit down. I play with Theo's fingers and he giggles. I smile and kiss his cheek. "Your mama will be out soon" I said. "You good with Leah retiring?" asked Amanda. "We've talked about it and she wants to be with the boys" I said. "They are cute, it makes sense" said Amanda, smiling. 

Soon Leah comes out and she waves at us. I wave back and Theo goes wild as does Levi. I smile and kiss Levi's head. "Mama" said Levi. I gasp and smile. "MAMA!" yelled Levi, pointing to the pitch. "Yeah, mama is down there" I said, rubbing his blonde hair. "First word" said Amanda. "Yeah, Leah will be slightly upset about it" I said. "But she'll get over it when he says it to her the first time" said Amanda. I nod. 

We watch them go and they win 3-1. We cheer and then head down to the pitch. "MAMA!" yelled Levi, smiling. "First word is mama" said Leah. "He said it up there when you came out for warm up" I said, watching as Amanda hands Levi to her.  

Leah kisses his head. "I have to do a speech, I can hold Levi" said Leah, smiling. We share a kiss and she heads to make a speech. 

"I've been here for so long, since 2006 and I've loved everything about Arsenal. I made friendships for life. Been a gunner is so important to me. I never expected it to be easy to be a player for Arsenal with the pressure of having to be perfect. I want to thank the fans, for accepting me and supporting me. Thank you for everything!" said Leah, smiling. She hands the mic to the man and then Leah walks over. 

She heads to the showers quickly and then we head home. Amanda heads home and we put the kids to bed at 8pm. We put on pyjama's and we relaxed for the remainder of the night.
