After the guys left the other night, it wasn't long before Elena decided to say goodbye to Vicki and Creeper and head home, feeling the pain getting worse.
Needless to say, she didn't get a wink of sleep, and now that it's morning, she feels even worse.
But she knows she can't afford to skip another day at the bookstore, so she pops a couple of painkillers, hoping they kick in fast, gets ready, and heads out.

The shift's been going on for about half an hour now, and the pain has eased up a bit. Elena's crossing her fingers, hoping it won't come back.
"You okay?" Elena turns to see Nora, her boss, and nods. "You look pale," Nora adds, eyeing her with concern.
Elena just shrugs and shakes her head like it's no big deal. "I didn't sleep well." Nora watches her for a moment, then gently places a hand on her shoulder. "The bookstore's not too busy today, especially after what happened last night..." Elena turns to her, confused. "What happened?"
"Well, apparently, last night at the Santa Maria festival, a nun got killed by that rebel group." Elena furrows her brow, even more confused. "The rebels killed a nun?" Nora nods. "Yeah, it surprised me too, but honestly, what did we expect from a group like that?" Elena decides to keep her thoughts to herself.
She knows damn well it wasn't them, and she's got a pretty good idea of who it really was.
But she's not about to say it out loud.
"Thanks," she says, grabbing her bag and deciding to head to the one person who can distract her this morning.

"Felipe," she greets him as she gets out of the car, noticing him sitting in the back of his pickup "Ez," she adds, nodding at his son, who smiles back at her. "Morning," they both respond.
"How are you?" the young man asks as she sits down next to Felipe. She sighs, "Let's just say I'm doing okay." Ez gives her a concerned look, but she quickly tries to shift the focus. "Did you guys hear about what happened last night at the festival?" she asks, trying to find out more. "Ez was just telling me about it a little while ago," Felipe says.
