(A/n- Ok, I'm seriously running outta ideas help)

The following week was marked by a steady routine of missions, training, and strategy meetings. The regiment was in a state of constant readiness, with everyone pushing themselves to their limits. You were no exception, dedicating every ounce of your energy to honing your skills. However, amidst the regimented discipline and strict focus, something unexpected began to surface—something that hadn't quite been there before.

It was a sunny afternoon when the regiment was given a rare break from training. The atmosphere around the headquarters was lighter than usual, with soldiers taking the opportunity to relax, socialize, and enjoy a brief respite from their grueling schedules. You found yourself near the edge of the training grounds, engaged in a lively conversation with a fellow soldier, Jean Kirstein.

Jean was one of the more outspoken members of the regiment, known for his quick wit and occasionally brash personality. He had always been friendly towards you, and over time, you had developed a camaraderie that was both easygoing and enjoyable. Today, Jean was in particularly high spirits, cracking jokes and bantering with you about the latest mission.

As you laughed at one of Jean's remarks, you noticed Levi out of the corner of your eye. He was standing a short distance away, speaking with Hange Zoe about some logistical matters. However, his attention seemed divided. His eyes kept drifting toward you and Jean, his usual sharp focus noticeably softened.

Levi's expression remained stoic, but there was something in his gaze—a subtle flicker of something uncharacteristic, something that almost seemed like... jealousy. It was so faint, so brief, that you wondered if you were imagining it. But then it happened again—another quick glance in your direction, his brows furrowing slightly as Jean's laughter echoed through the air.

You returned your attention to Jean, but you couldn't shake the feeling that Levi was watching. It made you a bit self-conscious, and you found yourself wondering what was going through his mind. Jean, oblivious to the situation, continued his playful banter, unaware of the silent tension building nearby.

As the conversation with Jean wrapped up, you made your way toward the headquarters, planning to grab a drink and cool down from the warm afternoon sun. As you walked, you felt someone fall into step beside you. It was Levi, his expression as neutral as ever, but there was an unmistakable intensity in his eyes.

"(Y/N)," Levi began, his tone as steady as always, but with an undercurrent of something more. "I noticed you were talking to Jean."

The comment was casual enough, but there was a subtle edge to it that didn't go unnoticed. You nodded, keeping your tone light. "Yeah, just some friendly banter. He was in a good mood, so we were joking around a bit."

Levi's gaze flickered, his expression remaining controlled, but there was a slight tension in his jaw that betrayed him. "Jean can be a bit of a loudmouth," he remarked, his voice carrying a hint of disapproval. "He talks too much."

You couldn't help but smile at the comment, sensing the slightest hint of jealousy beneath Levi's words. "He's harmless, Captain. Just trying to lighten the mood."

Levi's eyes narrowed slightly, but then he quickly returned to his usual demeanor. "It's important to stay focused," he said, his tone more measured now. "Distractions can be costly."

You nodded, understanding the underlying message. "I know. Don't worry, Captain. I'm focused."

Levi seemed to relax slightly at your response, his eyes softening just a fraction. "Good. We've got a lot ahead of us, and I need everyone at their best."

You felt a strange warmth at Levi's concern, even if it was disguised as a general reminder. There was something about his protectiveness that made you feel... noticed. And not just as a soldier, but as someone who mattered to him, even in the smallest way.

The rest of the day passed without incident, but the moment with Levi lingered in your mind. His subtle reaction, the brief flash of something resembling jealousy, had been unexpected. Levi was known for his unshakable composure and emotional restraint, yet today, he had let something slip—something that hinted at a deeper connection between you two.

As you prepared for bed that night, you couldn't help but reflect on how things had changed since the start of your time in the regiment. Levi's small gestures, his rare compliments, and now this faint trace of jealousy had all added up to something more than mere professionalism. It was as if the walls he had so carefully built around himself were beginning to show cracks, allowing you a glimpse into the emotions he usually kept hidden.

You lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, your thoughts racing. Was it possible that Levi felt something more for you, even if he couldn't—or wouldn't—admit it? And if so, what did that mean for the future? The questions swirled in your mind as sleep finally claimed you, pulling you into a restless slumber filled with dreams of unreadable gazes and unspoken words
