Y/N:Four words; I hate my life.
It wasn't estimated correctly how many contact refills I should bring him the Argo.
And no I have none.
And I'm near blind— and yes technically I brought my glasses. But being a demigod and wearing glasses fucking sucks. As soon as I began going to Camp Jupiter, they assigned me to contacts. And they didn't have enough fucking decency to cover me for over a month.
No one on this damned ship knew about my horrible eyesight, unless Jason. Except his memory was erased and he barely knew me past my name and face.
I stare in the mirror at my clunky big glasses. I was textbook blind. I can't see my own hands stretched out. Yet I'm the daughter of the king of the underworld. One of the most feared demigods, Slayer of Scylla... till she was inevitably reborn 1 year and 3 months later.
I was called the Queen of death. A title I didn't like, truly I wasn't any royalty. Death part was sort of accurate, I guess.
I got a lot of "if looks could kill" jokes. Mostly from Leo. Who weirdly enough, I was most afraid of him seeing my glasses. I don't know why, I've been my freest since I met the boy. 1 month, 2 weeks and 4 days ago. Counting always kept me sane, he felt the same. It was practically written in stone that we'd be friends, he had horrifically bad humour. It was my favourite type of humour, Leo always manages to make me laugh. No matter what.
Leo was special. I don't think he knew that. Truly, if I was able to deem someone special, it was true. According to Jason at least. Though he did bomb my city when he first arrived, that was quickly resolved when we realized what was happening of course.
I'm not really prepared to explain to anyone about my horrible eye sight, but if there was someone I will go to afterwards, I'll go to Leo. I couldn't trust Leo.
"Y/n?" Leo opens my door, leaning into my room.
I didn't mean right fucking now.
"Leo!" I yelp, spinning around to stare at him. Eyes widened.
Leo stared at me blankly for a moment, I shrink under his gaze. Which was stupid really, if I truly wanted to I could send him to the underworld... not that I wanted to, of course.
And he just stared, I stared back awkwardly.
"Glasses." Leo states, closing the door behind him.
"Glasses." I nod.
"When?" He asks.
"My entire life." I admit.
Leo smiles, "Were you one of those toddlers with stupid thick lenses?"
"Yes." I laugh. An imagine if pink glittery glasses flashed through my mind.
"Well you look nice." Leo compliments.
I scrunch my nose, "Thanks."
"No problem," Leo smiles. "Anyways, Piper said it's mandatory dinner time, come eat before Hedge threatens to drown you, again."
"Ugh," I groan. More about Hedge than Piper, but he had good intentions. "I'll be there in 5."
"See you." Leo leaves, flicking my light off.
Maybe my glasses weren't that bad. But why was I changing my opinion over a boys compliment?
