4) suspicion

It was time for lunch and I went to my table, I mean our table where I, Zoey, Caroline, Collins and Mark normally stay to have our lunch. But this time around Mark wasn't there

Because I searched around for him, until I stopped searching right when I saw him at Kim's table with her and her side girls. I was so freaking upset like, it's just like he doesn't know me anymore because we were so close before the incident I saw him putting a strand of Kim's hair behind her ear and then she blushed which made me boil more in anger.

Then I went to my table, Zoe looked at what was going on and tried to strike up a conversation but Collins did. "Hey girls, I think I should try out for team captain at football team." Caroline replied

"you aren't even on the team yet and you want to be the captain but don't worry I believe in you." She tried to be nice as she touched his hands and stared into his eyes. It seemed like Collins blushed at the feel of her touch but also stared into her eyes.

I cleared my throats for them to regain their senses but Caroline was determined to make Collins fall for her. I was so upset that I stood up from my seat and stormed off. Zoe chased me so did Caroline (just pretending). Caroline came and hugged me and said "look Lilly, I only like him as a friend. It's just that I was trying to encourage him to join the team. Since you were sad but I really didn't mean to hurt you."

It sounded really sincere but I didn't think of her being sincere. Why would she even bring up that conversation at the minute she saw me. "Lily just be happy don't mind anything going on as Caroline said, she didn't mean to hurt you. So don't be sad we keep repeating this almost every lunch break and this time I need to eat my food." We chuckled, as she hugged me tightly then Caroline said "you guys, don't forget me."  Then she joined the hug.

My instincts were still tingling because I had a bad feeling about this whole sincerity stuff but I needed to chill out. By the time I went to the lunch table, I didn't see Collins but I guess that made me feel happy a bit. And when I checked the other side of the cafeteria I didn't see Mark either.

My day brightened a bit because I didn't see him flirting with Kim.
We sat down, laughed, joked and ate our lunch, Caroline and Zoe made me feel happy and at home. And then I started to believe that she was actually sincere, but not so fast. I had to be careful just in case.

We went to the class and I still didn't see Collins and Mark. I just thought that maybe they went home for something. And it's just a coincidence that it happened at the same time. I tried my best not to worry about it.

But the more I tried, the more I worried. Caroline sat next to me and noticed I wasn't paying attention. So she copied my notes for me, how thoughtful of her. I was glad at least I have that covered up.

Kim didn't seem to worry a bit about mark's appearance at school. So I really thought something was wrong and I kept bothering myself about it until the class was over.

Few hours later, school was over. Caroline headed off to her house, but I had to stay so did Zoe because we had detention. I was not happy because Mark wasn't with me like last time, but at least I have my zoo bear, which is Zoe.

The rebels came again to me. I was shocked as fuck. Do they always get detention? But at least I have more company. The teacher looking after us during detention was really strict that she gave each and every one of us books to read. UHHHH!!

"Home sweet home. I'm so stressed out with keeping my grades up and solving this boy problem." I exclaimed as I laid on my bed and dozed off. I needed my beauty sleep.

After that I went over to Roland's house with my books because that's the only reason my parents will let me go. I'm going to study with Roland.

my number one excuse.

Well, I finally went over to his house and told him everything that happened. He was so sorry for me. He hugged me tightly and told me that everything was going to be alright. That's just exactly what I wanted to hear from him. He was really a good friend. When I told him about Collins and Mark's disappearance, he thought that they got into a fight. So did I.

Because Collins hates Mark, so does Mark hates Collins. But he assured me that they will be alright and made me feel a lot better. Thank God. Just then I spotted max running towards the house,(Roland's house), with books in his hand. "Hey sis, I followed your footsteps. I came to read with Rocky. Ha ha." He laughed as he threw his books at me and ran  inside saying "PS5 here I come!!" Roland and I laughed at the moment. And we decided to take a stroll to the park and have some ice cream.

We laughed and talked until it was time to call Max,& so that we could go back home. Just then I realized both Max and my books weren't there,

but where we're they.

I walked into the house through the front door and saw Mom and Dad standing right in front of me. That's when I knew I was in big trouble.

"Young lady, where are you coming from?"  Dad asked.
"Um, from the park", I replied with fear.
"You said you were going to study with Roland, but I didn't see you study." Mom added.
"Umm, well...Wait, how do you even know that?" I asked.
"Cause  I'm your mother and I was also watching you through the window and what I saw wasn't you studying." Mom said.

As you know, my mom has always seen me as a baby girl and she keeps being overprotective over everything I do.

"Missy, you are no longer going to Roland's house every day to study, only on weekends and once during weekdays." Dad concluded. 

Well there goes that!!!

I went to my room and received a text from Caroline;

"Hey lily, I hope you aren't still worried about collins and mark? Don't worry, they will show up tomorrow at school. Just cheer up", she said with cute heart emojis. "Good night"

the text read.

Carol was making me feel suspicious because of the sudden closeness, but I cared less about that. I need to take my night routine and go to bed so as to not miss bus again.
