Setting: During Tbona but not an actual point in the story. In the Hollow but without the mirth stone.

While Evangeline's wounds had been healing, she had felt hopeful. She had thought that maybe Jacks cared about her. He had brought her here, to the Hollow, after all.

But she soon realised that had been foolish. Jacks did not care about her. Nor would he ever. To him, she was only a key. That was why he had saved her. Not because he cared about her.

But it had felt different when he had tended to her wounds. He had been so gentle, so... caring.

She shook her head. She was being delusional.

In fact she hadn't seen Jacks for days. He had simply left her. Alone with her wounds and her self hatred. No, hatred towards him. Whenever he turned up, if he ever turned up, that was, she was going to give him a piece of her mind.

It didn't even make sense. He still needed her to open The Valory Arch. Why would he just disappear?

The rain poured heavily outside while Evangeline sat on a bay window of the Hollow. She scowled and hoped that Jacks was getting soaking wet, wherever he was.

But suddenly there was a white flash all around the room, and the thunder followed immediately after.

Evangeline knew the trick to lightning. Counting the seconds between the flash and the thunder, and divide it by five for how many miles away it was. But Evangeline doubted there had even been a second between the two.

The lightning was close. Very close.

Another white flash, and once again, the thunder sounded loudly.

She flinched, pulled the curtains closed and backing away from it, but the rain pounding just got louder.

Evangeline enjoyed gentle rain, but it seemed a big storm was brewing up. And Evangeline had always been scared of storms. Since she was a little girl and she had gotten stuck outside with her parents during one.

Ever since then, anytime there had been a storm, she had always cuddled up safely and cozily in her bed, making sure she knew where all the people she loved were. That they were also safe.

But she was safely indoors, and no matter how loud it got, nothing could hurt her, or the people she loved. Because the people she loved were all dead.

But where was Jacks? Where would he be going to take cover from the storm?

This time, the thunder came louder than before, and she flinched again, drawing in a sharp breath and wrapping her arms around herself.

"You're okay," she muttered to herself. "You're indoors, nothing can hurt you."

But what about Jacks? He did not care for her, and she certainly didn't care for him, but they didn't necessarily mean she wanted something bad to happen to him.

She squeaked as another flash of light surrounded her. She sank to the ground, hands wrapping around her legs and pulling them to her.

Just then, the door to the Hollow swung open, and in came a blonde Fate with eyes of clear blue, of a non stormy sky.

Jacks was here.

"Well, look who finally decided to show up," she said loudly.

He sighed in annoyance. "Don't even start, Little Fox. I'm just here to take cover from the-" he paused. "Why are you on the floor?"

She glanced around her and stood up quickly, walking over to him. "No. You don't get to come in here and ask questions after you've been gone for 5 days without a single word."
