Sirius Black had just returned from an Order mission, but for some reason, he felt an inexplicable urge to check in on Peter Pettigrew. He tried to convince himself it was just a routine visit, but deep down, he knew better. As he approached Peter's hideout, he couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.

"I'm being ridiculous," Sirius told himself. "Peter's a friend, a brother. What's got me so spooked?"

Despite his efforts to reassure himself, the sense of unease only grew stronger as he made his way to Peter's house. He remembered the day they appointed Secret Keepers for the Potters, and how James had insisted on making Sirius the Secret Keeper.

" 'I want you to be the Secret Keeper, Sirius,' James had said. But Sirius had suggested Peter instead. 'He's less obvious, James. Voldemort will assume you'll choose me.'"

Sirius recalled how Remus had also been a consideration, but they had ultimately chosen Peter. He wondered why he was thinking about this now, and why he felt so uneasy.

"Get a grip, Sirius," he muttered to himself. "You're just being paranoid."

But the feeling only intensified as he approached Peter's door. Something was off, and Sirius couldn't shake the sense of foreboding that settled in the pit of his stomach.

"What's going on, Peter?" Sirius asked himself. "What's really going on?"

As Sirius continued on his way to Peter's house, his mind lingered on the memories of the past. He recalled the two reasons why Remus was not selected as the Secret Keeper.

"The first reason was the suspicion of a spy within the Order," Sirius thought to himself. "Remus was a werewolf, and his frequent missions with other werewolves had raised some eyebrows. Peter had tried to convince James and me to suspect Remus, but James had flat out refused. I, on the other hand, had tried to deny it, but it had still shaken my trust in Remus."

Sirius remembered how this had led him to suggest Peter as the Secret Keeper instead of Remus.

"The second reason was that Remus was busy with a mission on the day we decided to make Peter the Secret Keeper," Sirius continued thinking. "It was a last-minute decision, and only Peter, James, Lily, and I knew about it. To the rest of the Order, I am still the Secret Keeper. I had thought it was safer that way."

As Sirius approached Peter's house, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. He had always trusted Peter, but now he wasn't so sure.

As Sirius landed his Flying Motorcycle near the wards of Peter's house, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. Their plan had been for Sirius to reveal that he was not the Secret Keeper once he returned from his mission, but instead of heading to Dumbledore's office, he found himself drawn to Peter's house.

"I'll just check in on Peter and then head to Dumbledore's," Sirius had told himself.

But as he approached the house, he realized it was empty. No sign of Peter. Sirius's mind raced with thoughts of the worst.

"Maybe Peter was killed," Sirius thought, his heart racing. "But there's no sign of struggle. Something's odd."

Sirius's first instinct was to check on James, Lily, and his godson Harry. He quickly started his Flying Motorcycle again and flew off in full speed towards Godric's Hollow.
