The Very Big, Very Dark Cloud

THE VERY BIG, VERY DARK CLOUD

Chub is a bunny. Chub has a friend named Bub. Bub is a mouse. Chub and Bub are very, very, VERY best friends. One day, Chub and Bub were at the park playing under the shining smiling sun, when suddenly, a very, very, VERY big and very VERY dark cloud came and blocked out the shining smiling sun!!! Now, Chub and Bub are very, very, VERY scared of very very big very very dark clouds. So Chub and Bub ran to Chub's house very, very, VERY fast. "We need to find the shining smiling sun!" Cried Chub. "We NEED to find the shining smiling SUN!!!" Cried Bub. So Chub and Bub went to Chub's backyard. They climbed into Chub's very VERY big treehouse. They sat down in the very big treehouse and thought. Then they thought some more. Chub and Bub thought, and thought, and THOUGHT!!! Then, Bub jumped up on his little mouse feet and shouted,"I know! I know, I know, I KNOW!!! We can climb to the very very big, very very dark cloud and push it away!" "Good idea, Bub!" Said Chub. "Then the shining smiling sun will be back! Then we can play and be happy!!!" And with that, Chub and Bub ran all the way back to the park. When they got to the park, Chub and Bub climbed to very tip-top of the VERY big slide. Bub got on top of Chub and reached. Bub reached very, VERY high, and Chub stood on his very, VERY tip toes, but Chub and Bub could not reach the very big, VERY dark cloud! Chub and Bub were very sad . Chub and Bub were very, VERY sad. So Chub and Bub trudged back to Chub's house. As Chub and Bub were trudging and being very, VERY sad, they heard a rummmmmble. They heard another rummmmmble. And another! Then they heard a CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! And they saw a very big and VERY bright light in the sky. Suddenly, big drops of water went KERPLOP! KERPLOP! KERPLOP! Chub and Bub stopped and looked around. There was water everywhere! Water here, water there, it was absolutely EVERYWHERE!!! Chub and Bub saw puddles of mud. SQUISH! Went the puddles as they jumped in them. Chub and Bub saw puddles of water. SPLASH! Went the puddles as they stomped through them. SPLURT!!! Went mud as Bub threw some at Chub. SQUIRT!!! Went more mud as Chub threw some at Bub. "YAY!" Went the friends as they made their way home.

When Chub and Bub got home, Mama Chubs was waiting for them. "Look at you muddy friends! Go take a bath! I made cookies for when you're done!!!" Chub and Bub raced to the tub, and SCRUB-A-DUB-DUBBed as fast as they could. Munching on milk and cookies, Chub and Bub talked. And they TALKED. And they talked some more! "We don't need the shining smiling sun to have lots of fun!" Bub realized. "We can have fun when big, dark clouds come!" Concluded Chub. And for then, tummies full on milk and cookies, Chub and Bub had fun without the shining, smiling sun.
