Hinata's POV:
Hinata Shoyo's morning routine had become a well-oiled machine. He woke up with the sun, ate a hearty breakfast, and raced to school with boundless energy. The early morning practices for the upcoming tournament had everyone on their toes, and Hinata was more excited than ever.
Today, however, there was a noticeable absence. As the team worked through their drills and strategies, Hinata couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. He glanced around the gym, looking for Y/N, who was usually there by now, organizing their water bottles and offering encouraging words.
"Hey, where's Y/N?" Hinata asked, a little too loudly, as he spiked the ball over the net.
The other players paused and looked around, just as confused. Kageyama, focused on setting up a drill, glanced up with a frown. "Yeah, I don't see her anywhere. Is she running late?"
Tanaka, who was wiping sweat from his forehead, shook his head. "Nah, she's usually here before us. Maybe something came up?"
Just then, Shimizu, the third-year manager, entered the gym. She carried a clipboard and looked around, her eyes landing on the team. Hinata's curiosity got the better of him, and he jogged over to her.
"Shimizu-san! Do you know where Y/N is?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.
Shimizu's face softened, and she sighed. "I'm afraid Y/N won't be coming to school today."
Hinata's heart sank. "What? Why not? Is she okay?"
Shimizu looked down at the clipboard, then back at Hinata with a gentle smile. "Y/N's been feeling under the weather since yesterday. She called me this morning to let me know she'd be staying home to rest."
The team fell silent, the news hitting them like a ton of bricks. Hinata's mind raced with worries. Y/N had been such a vital part of their daily routines, and seeing her absent made him feel uneasy.
"But she seemed fine the last time I saw her," Hinata said, his brow furrowing. "I didn't notice anything wrong."
"I think she just didn't want to worry anyone," Shimizu said, her tone soothing. "But she mentioned that she was feeling pretty sick. It's probably best for her to get some rest."
Hinata nodded, though his worry didn't subside. "Is there anything we can do for her? Maybe send her a get-well-soon message or something?"
"That's a great idea," Shimizu agreed, her eyes brightening with approval. "I'm sure she'd appreciate that."
Determined to cheer Y/N up, Hinata quickly turned to the team. "Okay, everyone! Let's make a get-well-soon card for Y/N. We can all sign it and write our messages. It'll make her feel better!"
The team rallied around the idea, their previous practice energy now focused on creating something special for their manager. They gathered around a large piece of poster board and began to brainstorm what to write.
Nishinoya was the first to grab a marker, scribbling a message with his characteristic flair. "Y/N, get well soon!"
Tanaka added his own comment, "Feel better soon! We miss you lots!"
Kageyama, surprisingly, took a turn with the marker. "Hope you're feeling better soon! Practice isn't as fun without you. Don't push yourself too hard."
Hinata was the last to write his message, taking a moment to think about what to say. He finally settled on something heartfelt, drawing a small volleyball and writing, "Y/N, we miss you! Get well soon. The gym's just not the same without you. Can't wait to have you back!"
