Rosalie Bennet was Alyssa's best friend.

They've known each other since they could remember. From kindergarten play time activities to stupid high school crushes. They stuck together through all of it.

Everyone had to admit, it was an odd duo. The pair were even voted polar opposites in their freshman yearbook.

Rosalie being the happy-go-lucky, charismatic, golden retriever girl she was - was always asked why she hung around someone like Alyssa.

Alyssa being known as the bitchy, mood-killing, black cat in the school. She was heavily judged because of her dry sense of humour and lack of sensitivity to other people's feelings.

Though, the Nielsen girl thought people overlooked her due to her appearance, ultimately getting a nose job in her sophomore year. Unfortunately, apart from her nose, nothing changed.

She didn't quite understand that people disliked her because of her personality, not her looks. Rosalie didn't look at her that way, though. She would put up with Alyssa's attitude and sarcastic remarks because she knew the girl never meant harm. Towards Rosalie at least.

When no one would put up with Alyssa's attitude, Rosalie did. When no one would listen to Alyssa's rants, Rosalie would. When no one was Alyssa's friend, Rosalie was.

And that's what made their bond so strong. They both differed in many areas but at the end of the day, they were always there for each other. Alyssa recognized the sacrifices Rosalie made for her and vice versa.

As they grew up, she grew up alongside Alyssa's younger brother as well - Benj.

He was dorky, awkward and fidgety but Rosalie never judged him for it. She would match his energy, singing karaoke songs from their favourite musicals together.

They'd have little movie hangouts - whether it was in a real theatre or the mini self-made one that they set up in Benj's room.

He was always comfortable with her. Almost like a safe space for him. It never felt forced or fake. She was the most genuine person he knew.

She would stand up for him whenever someone crossed the line, even against his own sister - which he loved. It never felt like she favoured one sibling over the other. They were both treated equally.

The two were just as close as Rosalie and Alyssa. That was Rosalie's specialty. Making people feel special and seen in their own ways. That's what made everyone feel close to her.

She gained many friends and a high status by the end of freshman year because of this.

Although, she never let that change the way she acted.

Her only flaw was that when it came to her loved ones, she would protect them in a heartbeat. But when it came to herself? She was a pushover to put it simply. Rosalie would get walked all over and treated horribly but she never lost her kindness.

Her loving nature was both a blessing and a curse.
