3rd Person POV
Y/n sat quietly as the group continued their lively banter, the sound of their laughter and the warmth of their camaraderie surrounding her. It was different from the chaotic energy she was used to, the kind that made her feel out of place or on edge. Here, the teasing and jokes weren't directed at her in a mean-spirited way, but rather in a way that made her feel included, as if she were part of something bigger—a family.
The more she listened, the more she realized how much she enjoyed being here. The way Baji and Draken could poke fun at each other without any hard feelings, the way Takemichi would nervously laugh along, trying to keep up with the conversation, and the way Mitsuya seemed to effortlessly bring a sense of calm to the group—all of it felt so genuine. Even the quiet moments, when everyone was catching their breath from laughing too hard, felt comfortable.
She glanced around at the faces of her new friends. Mitsuya was focused on a piece of fabric he'd been working on, his fingers moving with practiced ease. Baji was teasing Pah about something, making the other boy groan dramatically, while Draken just shook his head with an amused smirk. Hinata and Emma were deep in conversation, their heads close together as they whispered excitedly about something.
Then there was Chifuyu, who was organizing his materials with a look of concentration. Every so often, he would glance up, catching Y/n's eye, and give her a small, reassuring smile. It made her feel warm inside, a sense of belonging that she hadn't felt in a long time.
It was in this moment that Y/n realized this wasn't just a group of friends; it was a home. Not in the physical sense, but in the way that mattered most—a place where she felt safe, where she could be herself without fear of judgment. The more time she spent with them, the more she found herself wanting to stay, to be a part of this little family that accepted her without question.
The intimidating aura that had once surrounded her at school was gone, replaced by something far more comforting. Y/n knew that as long as she was with them, she wouldn't feel so alone anymore. This was her new normal, and it was something she was more than willing to embrace.
As the day stretched on, the group continued to enjoy each other's company, not noticing the passage of time until the sky began to change colors. The bright blue slowly faded into hues of orange, pink, and purple as the sun dipped lower on the horizon. The warm glow of the sunset cast long shadows across the ground, making everything look more serene and peaceful.
They had found a spot on a grassy hill overlooking the city, the perfect place to watch the sun set. Baji and Draken had finally stopped their playful banter, now lying back on the grass, staring up at the sky as it shifted from vibrant colors to the soft, dusky tones of twilight. Mitsuya was sitting cross-legged, his focus momentarily shifting from his sewing to the view in front of him. Takemichi and Hinata were side by side, holding hands and smiling as they shared a quiet moment, while Chifuyu and Kazutora chatted softly nearby.
Y/n sat quietly, soaking in the atmosphere. The cool breeze brushed against her skin, and she wrapped her arms around her knees, pulling them close to her chest. The sounds of the city were distant, muffled by the gentle rustling of leaves and the occasional laughter from her friends. It was a perfect end to the day, a moment of peace that contrasted with the usual hustle and bustle of their lives.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, leaving a soft, golden glow in its wake, Y/n felt a deep sense of contentment. Being here with them, watching the sunset, made her realize how far she had come since her first day at school. The fear and uncertainty that once clouded her thoughts had faded away, replaced by the warmth of friendship and the comfort of belonging.
The group stayed out until the last light of day faded, talking and laughing until the stars began to twinkle overhead. There was no rush to go home, no need to say goodbye just yet. For now, they were all just enjoying the moment, relishing in the simplicity of being together as the night settled in.
Y/n's heart sank a little at the mention of a gang meeting. She couldn't help but feel uneasy, knowing what that could mean—fights, injuries, and more chaos. She hated when others got hurt, and the thought of her new friends being involved in such dangerous activities made her stomach twist with worry.
As the conversation continued, she tried to push those thoughts aside, focusing instead on the warmth of the group's laughter and the sense of belonging she was beginning to feel. Despite the dark undercurrents, being with them felt more like a home than she had felt in a long time.
Y/n's mind raced as she considered the possibility that the gang they were talking about might be the same one Izana was involved in. The thought made her heart pound with a mix of fear and curiosity. She wanted to ask, to find out if her suspicions were true, but she hesitated. What if they thought she was prying? What if they realized how much she didn't belong in their world?
She bit her lip, glancing at the faces around her. Chifuyu's kind eyes, Baji's mischievous grin, Takemichi's friendly demeanor—it was hard to imagine any of them in the same violent world that Izana inhabited. But then again, appearances could be deceiving. Should she ask, or was it better to remain in the dark?
Y/n hesitated, her gaze shifting between the group members. The question lingered on the tip of her tongue, but she couldn't bring herself to ask. What if knowing the answer changed everything? What if it confirmed her worst fears?
She took a deep breath, trying to push the thoughts aside. Maybe it was better not to know. After all, she had only just started to feel comfortable around them. The laughter, the camaraderie—it felt like a small piece of home, a sanctuary from the chaos she had glimpsed in Izana's world. She didn't want to ruin that, not now. So, she kept quiet, letting the conversation flow around her, her mind still tangled with uncertainty.
