•°Corinne's POV°•

Ben helped me climb down the well, which I found so sweet. He tried his best to make sure I didn't fall. How I missed this. If only I hadn't disappeared back then, I wonder how different my life would have been.

When we got to the sewers, we stepped into the grey water, which made me pull a face, but I endured it.

"Oh man."

"Blech.Grey water."

It was tunnel after tunnel, the disgusting water getting deeper and deeper with each turn we took.

Once we arrived at the place where Beverly and I had floated in the air all those years ago, I actually started getting goosebumps. It looked exactly the same, and yet completely different. It made me shiver.

"Shit. This is it," Ben said from next to me. "This is where it happened." He added. It was the place I had almost been killed, but also the place Ben had saved me from a terrible nightmare with a simple kiss.

We moved forward, but something just didn't feel right. It was like danger was about to pop out of nowhere, but we still made our way towards the only island that wasn't covered with water.

"No, no, no. No. Ugh!" Eddie said, avoiding touching any garbage that was floating around.

For a moment, I thought I heard someone call out my name from the darkness, making me look, but nothing was there.

"Cori, what is it?" Ben asked, concerned when he noticed I wasn't following the rest of them. He grabbed the attention of everyone else.

"I thought I heard someone calling out to—" But I was stopped mid-sentence when a hideous, monster-like figure appeared in front of me, laughing over Beverly's and my screams. It grabbed me tightly around my neck.

"Cori!" Ben shouted, trying to get to me.

"Time to sink!" it said, pulling me underwater. I tried to get away, but it kept pulling me down. Almost at the bottom, it just held me there. My lungs started burning, searching for air. I kicked and slapped, trying to get away, but it wouldn't let me go—until I felt someone's arms around my waist, pulling me away from its hold. I saw some of the others forcing it to let go.

Once I was back above the water, I gasped for air, taking deep breaths. I looked at the person who had pulled me out and saw that it was Ben. He always seems to be the one to save me.

"You okay?" Ben asked me. I just laid my head on his shoulder, trying to get my heartbeat under control.

"I feel like crying," Eddie said.

"Mike. Where do we go from here?" Richie asked. Mike's only response was to point out a door on the island.

"In the depths is where it crept. In the beneath, to find belief. In the depths is where it crept. In the beneath, to find belief," Mike muttered.

"Is he okay?" Ben asked.

"I think at this point, that's a relative question," Richie stated.

"What's on the other side?" Beverly asked him.

"I don't know. No one does," Mike said. Which was just perfect, I thought. But it didn't stop Mike from opening the door.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!"

"Mike!"

He looked down, and I can tell you, it was definitely a long way down.

"Mike, don't," Bill said.

"All right. See you down there," Mike said, climbing down into the hole as the others called out to him.

"Stay together." "Okay."

I went next after Bill, not wanting to take the chance of being at the back of the group and getting grabbed once again. It was a hard climb down, but we managed to make it without any surprises from that damn clown.
