The first couple hours of my work were spent answering emails and making appointments. Though time was against me today. There was a meeting today that I was required to be at and Valentino would be there. I knew there's no way he would've been able to find out about me spending the night in the Penthouse, but he always seemed to know everything. I felt more like some one who had just committed a sin in front of god. Like I had done something that he knew about but wouldn't say anything until I confessed to it. Truth be told I didn't want to be in the same room with Val if I could avoid it, but there was no avoiding it today. This was an important business meeting that all the Vee's would be at. I just happen to be the only assistant in the building. The clock loomed over me and made it incredibly difficult to focus. These last couple of days I've been seeing some real stress. I thought back to last night. It made me smile for a moment. I had a lot of fun with Vox. Who knows if I'll ever get the chance to do that again. The more I thought about it the more I feel like I should've acted on my impulses. Knowing it would be the last time might've made me feel better. In the moment I was just......scared. I was startled by the elevator dinging in front of me. I jumped a bit and looked up to see Vox coming out of the elevator. He had a lustful grin on his screen as he came up to me. Just his stare made me blush. He leaned in closer and set a coffee cup on my desk.
"You forgot this." He said mischievously."
Slowly putting my hands around the cup I put it up to my lips and took a sip. Then looked up at Vox flirtatiously.
"Mm, needs some sugar."
Vox leaned in and whispered...
"Ah, well. Maybe you should stick your finger in it. Y'know, since you're so sweet."
I was about to die over how adorable he was being all of a sudden. I giggled and hid my face from him. He chuckled as he walked back towards the elevator then looked back as the door slid in front of him. He came in at the perfect time. I was starting to feel tired and worried. That seemed to almost completely melt away. I was able to get the rest of my work done before the meeting. Something that was more obvious than unspoken was the fact that we'd have to keep this little fling under wraps. Whatever it was. It was fun to flirt with him, but was it worth our safety? Could we keep it a secret if we fully commited to each other? I'd like to think so. It would be nice to finally feel close to him. I'm sick of hiding my feelings. I didn't want to just be flirty. I wanted to love him. An alert popped up on my computer saying it was almost time for the meeting to start. I quickly gathered myself and headed down to the meeting room. I seemed to be the first one there. Weird I was only two minutes early. Was I in the right room? I'm sure I was. Vox then followed behind grinning at me before sitting down. I slapping my hand down gesturing for him to stop looking at me like that. Val would be in any second and he couldn't get that shit eating grin off his face. I stared at him with wide eyes a bit worried. He winked at me as he rubbed the bottom of his screen with his finger. He was doing this on purpose. Trying to rile me up. It was a test. A test to see if I could control myself in front of Val. I guess it was a test for both of us in a way. Vox would have to keep it in his pants during the meeting so Val wouldn't notice either. Two could play at that game. I thought of some ways I could tease him if he really wanted to push his luck. Suddenly Val walked into the room. He was smoking as usual. Red smoke in long curls trailed out from in between his gold teeth. He smiled over at Vox. Vox looked up and frowned at him. Val looked over at me and expressed the same frown. I was a bit surprised. He usually has that stupid smile stuck to his face no matter the situation. He didn't like me. That was for sure. I quickly glanced at my notes.
"Shall we wait for Velvette?" I asked the room?
"She'll be here in 15 min." Vox said.
"Right. Fashionably late."
We started the meeting without her. My brain was pretty much on autopilot the whole time. Vox and Val would being up a discussion and I would answer questions from my notes. Pretty simple "catching up" stuff, company-wise. Then Velvette finally showed up.
"Ok let's get this over with." She said uninterested.
Velvette sat down and scrolled her phone. The two other Vee's didn't seem to mind and she was still engaging in each conversation. We started having a discussion about things that needed to get done before our next meeting together. Now was my chance. I walked around the table and reached over Vox. He looked surprised for a second. I acted like I was grabbing a pen but really I was trying to get my cleavage as close to his screen as possible. His eyes went wide and bright red.
"Excuse me sir." I said sarcastically as I reached over.
Val was distracted by something on his phone and didn't seem to really notice. Velvette however watched the interaction and grinned. She wasn't an idiot. She knew exactly what was happening. I knew she wouldn't bother with it though. She was a sucker for drama but not when it put the company at risk. Vox froze. I started taking notes. Vox cleared his throat trying to gain composure then began listing things off. The rest of the meeting went on as usual. We finally ended it and everyone beganeaving the room. From outside the meeting window I could see Vox and Val talking. Valentino curled his finger gesturing for Vox to follow him. Uh oh. Did I go to far? Did I get him in trouble? They both disappeared after that interaction, but I don't think they saw me. I went back up to my desk and started saving notes and marking new dates that we had just all made. Except now I was nervous. Vox started it and now because I couldn't control myself he might be in trouble. I could feel my heart about to pound out of my chest. I couldn't focus. I was too worried about him. Then my phone buzzed. I picked it up. Vox sent a text. I quickly opened the message.
"Quick reminder to email me those notes and share the new calendar."
That-that's all he said?! I mean. I guess he's still alive. I looked up at the camera in the corner. Was he watching me? Could he see me right now? Can Val see me?! No. That's probably why he texted. He saw that I looked worried. Or, was I just overthinking it. I needed to relax. I went into Vox's workshop for a cigarette and a small drink then went back to work. I got hired to be Vox's assistant yet he seems to be the one who's always absent. He's pretty busy being on TV all the time I guess. Some time later I heard the elevator ding and Vox walked out. I looked up from my desk to greet him. He was a lot less cheery than he was this morning. As he got closer I noticed something was wrong. His screen was completely broken. The corner of it had a round area that was practically dust. The area had fractured and cracked the entirety of his screen. He was groaning a bit in pain and tried to hide it. It almost looked like......! My eyes went wide and I quickly stood up to help him. It looked like someone punched his screen.
"Vox!"
"Y/N it's fine. I'm fine!"
"Nuh uh! You're not gonna try to get out of this again. I took his arm and helped him into the workshop to sit down. I knew it was hard for him to see when his screen was like that so he needed a guide. I quickly sat him down. I grabbed some tools and started to pry the screen off of the monitor on his face to reveal the motherboard. Looking around I didn't see any damage other than the screen. We got lucky.
"Ok, I think you're screen is the only thing that broke."
"Great, now I'd like to see again please." Vox said a bit sassy.
I shook it off and went to grab a replacement screen. When I got back I gestured for Vox to lay back into the chair but he obviously couldn't see.
"Hello?" He said.
I pressed my hand to his chest to get him to lean back. He flinched a bit surprised by where I touched him.
"Don't do that. I can't see." He said.
"Don't do what? This?" I said poking his leg.
He flinched and tried to smack my hand away.
"Knock it off!"
I poked him again. This time in the arm. He stood up getting pissed off. He couldn't see so I wasn't very worried.
"I mean it y/n! Cut it out!"
"Maybe that's what you should be yelling at Val!" I exclaimed.
Vox stopped. He looked away and down towards the floor before sitting back in his chair.
"I'm just trying to help you Vox. Now lay back, and stop being a baby." I said.
I heard him let out a sigh before crossing his arms and leaning back into the chair. I pushed the screen on and began adjusting the connection. The screen loaded up and Vox's face came back online. He sat back up while I continued adjusting the connection. He looked up at me with a small frown before looking down with guilt and sadness riddled all over his screen.
"Val do this?" I asked.
All Vox could do was rub at his fingers nervously. He was embarrassed that he couldn't stand up for himself and that I knew what had happened. I shook my head.
"I'd kill him Vox. If I had the power to I would."
"Hm well a lot would be at stake if that was up for debate, unfortunately."
"Ok, it's fixed."
I put the tools back into his desk and started at him curiously.
"Does........does it hurt?"
"Hurts just about as much as getting punched in the face."
I sighed.
"Let me get some ice." I said looking around the office. There was ice by the whiskey counter but there wasn't anything to put it into. I looked through drawers until I finally found it. I bagged up some of the ice and brought it over. Vox was appalled by what I had done. He took the ice bag from me realizing that I had put the ice into a condom.
"Sorry. That's all you have up here."
"Hm, I'll be sure to add ice packs to my inventory." Vox said sarcastically.
"Here, let me help."
I walked around the desk and sat on top of it and held the ice to Vox's screen. He finally started to grin. Suddenly we locked eyes. They were like magnets. His hand went up to mine and caused me to drop the ice pack. We pulled each other in. My hands went to Vox's shoulders. Closer and closer till we both shut our eyes and let our lips collide. His lips...... they felt like skin. They were soft. We gently pecked at eachother. I could feel Vox's hands roll up my thighs and towards my waist. I had my arms fully around his neck, holding his screen closer to my face.
