♡Clay pov♡

"Clay, where the hell are we?" George asked as I shut off the car.

"You know I'm not gonna tell you." I stated.

I got out and ran around the car to his side to open the door for him. He smiled and got out. I shut the door.

"You're so cute." He said.

I went behind him and covered his eyes with my hands.

"What are you doing?" He giggled.

"So you can't read the signs. Walk, babe." I demanded.

He laughed again and started to walk. I guided him through the parking lot.

"I feel like you're gonna push me in front of a car." He said.

"Maybe. If you keep asking where we are, I might have to." I told him.

He giggled again. We got to the front door, and I pulled my hands away. I opened the door and quickly ushered him inside.

"Oh my god." He mumbled.

I looked at his face and smiled. His eyes were wide and full of life. His jaw was slightly ajar as he looked around.

"You mentioned not having a very good childhood. So, I assumed you've never had a fun zoo experience?" I asked.

He shook his head.

"I've never been to one." He stated.

He finally looked at me and smiled. He hugged me and I returned it.

"Thank you, Clay. This is already so amazing." He said.

I kissed the top of his head.

"It's no problem, baby." I replied.

I got us checked in, and I paid, although he insisted. We began walking down a hallway that led to the area with animals.

"I love this zoo because all the animals are rescued. They weren't just taken from the wild or raised here. They were all injured and kept here because they won't survive in the wild." I explained.

"That's amazing." He replied.

We got to the first part, which was aquatic. There was a sea turtle with half the fin missing, and it made George a little sad, but he was happy it was okay.

"Oh my god!" He exclaimed.

There were a couple of otters running around and playing in the water. One was missing a leg, one was missing an eye, and the other ran almost sideways. There were little holes in the glass as well. The otter with a missing eye ran over and put his little paws through the holes.

"You can pet him." A worker told us.

George smiled and squatted down. I squatted next to him, and he gently petted the otters' paws.

"Awwww. Hi, baby. You're so cute." George cooed softly.

I smiled.

"Clay, pet it. It's so soft." He said.

I pet the otters' paws. They were very soft. We kept going to different things, and George was getting so excited and happy. It was so cute.

Suddenly, he gasped and grabbed my hand. He pulled me into a room that said petting zoo. There were mostly little kids in here, but neither of us minded.

"Look!" George exclaimed, pointing.

I looked and saw a bunch of baby kittens.

"We have to get in." He stated.
