Christian

After our last week together, Alexandria was whisked away from New York City and across the ocean for work. I've had the honor of watching her grace the runway in high fashion, and even with her serious demeanor, there was an undeniable sparkle in her eyes. She looked genuinely happy while doing what she does best.

It’s hard to believe that just a short while ago, I had envisioned taking her away from all of this—imagining her locked up in a penthouse, living the life of a wealthy housewife. But if she weren’t so stubborn and determined, I wouldn’t have had the privilege of watching her walk the runway, showcasing her talent and passion to the world.

Currently, she’s in Milan, preparing for her last few shows before heading to Paris Fashion Week, or “Fashion Month,” as she affectionately refers to it. I couldn't accompany her to her London shows due to work obligations, but I’m trying to rearrange my schedule so that I can at least fly over for the day and celebrate her birthday with her. Making that happen is becoming increasingly important to me.

“Christian, are you even paying attention?” Taylor’s voice cut through my thoughts, snapping me back to reality. I looked up from my phone, realizing I had been lost in my own world.

“Sorry,” I replied, placing my phone down reluctantly.

Taylor leaned over the conference table, her brows knitted together with concern. “You seem distracted. Is everything okay?”

Before she interrupted me, I got a email from my jeweler who I had task to make the perfect engagement ring for Alexandria, and he hasn't failed me. He just notified me that the ring was ready for collection.

" Yeah, I'm fine. " i answered her.

“You know I’ve found a solution to the marriage issue, right?” she continued, a knowing smile creeping across her face.

A flicker of curiosity ignited within me. “What do you mean?”

Taylor shifted in her seat, her demeanor turning serious. “I’ve been thinking about the arrangement set up by Alexandria’s father. It’s not just a trap; there’s a way out of it that could benefit you both.”

“Go on,” I leaned forward, intrigued yet cautious.

“You could marry her, gain ownership of the plot, and then annul the marriage shortly after. It’s a smart move—essentially a business transaction that keeps you in control while allowing her to keep her life intact.”

I rubbed my temples, feeling a mix of frustration and intrigue. “Yes, and it’s a brilliant idea, but…” I hesitated, contemplating the implications of such a move. “Let’s keep this just between us for now.” I knew I had to keep it under wraps, perhaps forever.

“Christian, I understand your hesitation, but think about it! ” Taylor pressed, her eyes wide with urgency.

“Business is business, but I can’t just uproot her life again,” I replied, my voice firm yet strained. “We’ve come so far, and I can’t imagine turning all of that off just for a few extra million dollars to expand my wealth and the business. The thought repulses me.”

Taylor sighed, her expression softening as she leaned back in her chair. “I get it, I really do. But you have to consider the reality. Her father set this up, and it’s not going to change. The moment you get that plot, you can help her—really help her. And isn’t that what you want?”

I paused, the weight of her words sinking in. “I want to protect her, yes. But at what cost? I can’t just treat her like a means to an end.”

Taylor’s gaze pierced through me, her determination unwavering. “You’re not treating her like that. You’re offering her a way out of a situation that’s been forced upon her. You’re giving her control over her life, not taking it away. Think about how empowering that could be for her.”
