Chapter 7: The second fight

-It's over! The winner of the first match of the first round of VTuber apocalypse is... Dokibird!- announced Roberu.

Dokibird lay down on the floor of the arena, tired but with a smile on her face.

-We won... Huh, Selen?- murmured the blonde.

-Not bad, Doki. Not bad at all.- answered Selen.

Dokibird was covered by wings again, regaining her original appearance.

The stands received this news with mixed reactions. Some were happy for Dokibird's victory and others incredulous for the defeat of the first of the VTubers.

-No... It can't be...- murmured Miracle, not believing what she had just seen. -Kizuna-Senpai...lost?-

Kaf put her hand on Miracle's shoulder.

-Calm down...- said Kaf, smiling. -Kizuna gave it her best shot. It was quite a show to see her using all her strength. It's a shame she didn't win, but I'm glad I was able to see her full potential. What about you?-

Miracle, Chris and Riz nodded while giving each other a small smile.

-Yes...- answered Miracle.

Not far away, other attendees were celebrating Dokibird's victory.

-Thanks.- Vox stood up from his seat as he headed for the exit. -Selen, I'm excited to measure our strength...-

Vox gave a small smile as he walked away to the waiting room. However, while he was walking to the waiting room...

-Vox! We were just going to go find you.-

Turning around, Vox found Sora, Miko and Suisei.

-Your turn!- Sora said. -Are you ready?-

-Of course.- Vox answered. -I have to win this fight if I want to face Selen. Bring it on, Sora.-

-Great, great!- said an excited Sora. -Follow us, it's this way.-

In a place not far from the arena, a short girl with long hair was looking with interest at a screen that showed the result of Dokibird and Kizuna AI's fight. The girl looked at the screen with an evil smile.

-Well, well... Kizuna AI has lost, huh?-

Suddenly, a tall girl with short hair entered the room.

-Hey, boss. Should we start our plan now?- the short-haired girl asked. -With Kizuna eliminated from the tournament, it will be easier to make it.-

-No, not yet.- the long-haired girl answered as she settled into her chair. -Let's wait a little longer. Trust me. This plan is going to work out perfectly...-
