What inspired me to start writing?

This is a long story but I'll try to keep it really short

I went through a phase where I read a lot of books and I loved the place they would take me too because I'm very emotional so I like it when I can escape from my own problems and stuff like that. My mom told me that I should write down my experiences and then my friend got me a journal and I really got into writing. Then I hated it but my friend started writing and it inspired me to continue to write!!
