Ethan wrestled with a deep sense of guilt after betraying Nora.
He knew how much she had done for him, how much she had sacrificed, but he couldn’t deny the pull Ava had over him. It was like a force he couldn’t resist, one that kept drawing him in.
Ava understood him in ways he couldn’t explain, and more than that, he wanted to protect her. From the world, from her abusive husband, the Mayor, Jeffrey Coopland.
"He hit me again," Ava whispered, lifting her hair to reveal the deep bruise along her jawline. Her blue eyes brimmed with unshed tears. Ethan’s fingers traced the outline of the bruise, gentle and careful, as though he could wipe away the pain she felt.
"File a complaint against him, Ava. You can't keep living like this," Ethan urged, his voice steady but soft. Yet, Ava’s tears flowed freely, shaking her head as she pressed her face into his chest.
"I’m scared, Ethan." Her voice trembled as her hands gripped his shirt. "He’ll kill me if I do. He’ll make me disappear like the others."
Ethan didn’t hug her back, but his heart clenched for her. Despite his reservations, he couldn’t turn his back on her suffering. The vulnerability in her eyes, the fear in her voice, all of it made him feel responsible for her.
"I’ll protect you, Ava," he said firmly, lifting her chin so she could look into his eyes. "But you have to stand up for yourself."
Ava’s response was swift, her lips pressing against his before he could stop her. Ethan tensed, instinctively pulling away, but the taste of her lips lingered. He resisted, tried to pull back, but Ava's hands were already undoing his fly.
"Ava, no," he whispered, his breath uneven as he tried to resist. "I can’t do this to No—"
She silenced him with another kiss, her breath warm and heavy against his mouth. "Please," she moaned, her hand slipping inside, teasing him.
Ethan felt his control slipping, his body betraying him, and in the heat of the moment, he found himself imagining Nora. How it would feel if it were her.
The car filled with wet, obscene noises, Ava’s head bobbing up and down, her tongue working skillfully on his little organ. When Ethan felt himself reaching the edge, Ava suddenly stopped, pulling away. He gasped, his eyes wide with confusion.
"Ava?" he questioned, his body aching with the abrupt halt. But she didn’t answer.
Instead, she climbed onto his upright thing, straddling him, slipping her panties off and positioning herself above him.
"You’re so big, Ethan," she moaned, lowering herself onto him. "Fuck me like you mean it."
Ethan's body moved on autopilot, responding to Ava’s every command, but his mind was somewhere else.
