"You don't know how to start the conversation"

"Yes" Heatwave replied awkwardly to his partner, both sited down against the wall with full view of the sky, but some clouds were on the middle on them and the stars

"If it's about what happened tonight, you don't have to tell me" Boulder's voice box was so soft, like a blanket

"But I want to!" Heatwave looked deep in the optic to the green bot "I don't think it's okay from me to just disappear like that with no explanation, specially to you"

Boulder took their optics away for a moment "okay, but if you need to stop, don't doubt it"

"Thanks" Heatwave also took their optics away and hugged his knees like before, "now I don't know where to start"

"Maybe from the very beginning?"

"The very beginning? When I was a sparkling?"

"That would be so cute to hear!" Boulder clapped their servos in celebration

"Okay? Hehe. Well, when do I start. I was a normal sparkling, the biggest of my triplet, and also the strongest, now I'm not but those are details, am, that was a lot of time ago...

"Today but like a whole life ago, hm" Boulder chuckled from their own joke, but Heatwave didn't laughed and just look at them like a stray puppy

"Boulder"

"Yes?"

"I don't know when I was created. I don't remember it" Heatwave explained himself "all the ones who were sent to the miner colonies doesn't know their creations days, we never had that right"

Boulder's optics opened more than usual, like stretching the already big optic "why?"

"Because we never were that important. I preferred to never told you about it, or anyone, actually"

"But- why you never told us?"

"I wasn't prepared to admit the same people I was protecting were the ones who supported the people that put me in that state on first place" Heatwave's expression never changed on the way, while Boulder's was such a confused look and an upside-down grim

"I'm sorry..."

"Don't be, I never told you, it is my fault

"I should have asked"

"It was a surprise" Heatwave gave Boulder a tiny smile for the encouragement, but Boulder's faceplate didn't changed a bit, instead, Boulder took Heatwave's servo and squeezed it, like saying sorry again but with more care. Heatwave brought near Boulder's fingers to his faceplate, feeling the heat of it "I just wanted to be honest" Boulder didn't reply, trying to get the words right

"I appreciate it" they finally said "for who's the date I used then? I asked the twins"

"Today's the day Soundwave graduated from college"

"Oh... wrong bot, I see"

"Hehe, those things happen" Heatwave gave Boulder a more relaxed gaze, which led Boulder to give a tiny but secure smile, later, resting their head on Heatwave's shoulder and surrounded his hips with their servos

"I still want to hear more about you"

"No! Please!" Heatwave let out an insecure laugh "I just used the small talk to tell you that"

"But I want to know more!" Boulder insisted with a high tune "let's make a deal, I say a bit about me, and you say a bit about you, like an interspersed story!"
