Gavin and Static stepped into the dark tunnel through the home that was just big enough for them to fit through. They started to walk, but didn't talk. So, Static was remembering home, he missed home.
Static happily ran away from his Mother giggling as she chased him with a squirt gun. He was carrying two little pumpkins his Mother had just brought home. "Come here you thief! You stole all of my pumpkins!" She exclaimed as she chased after her 6 year old son. Her pride and joy since the day he was born.
Static giggled as she squirted water at him, the water running through his thick black hair. Static suddenly tripped on the hose, crushing one of the pumpkins. Static sat up and looked at his Mother, face and shirt covered in pumpkin. "Uh-oh."
Static's Mother just giggled. "Uh-oh indeed kiddo, uh-oh indeed." She said as she scooped up the little boy.
"Mad?" He asked.
"Nah. I can always go buy another one." She replied, rubbing his head. Static snuggled close, and she snuggled back. Static was covered in pumpkin guts, be she didn't mind the pumpkin getting in her warm brunette hair or it getting on her light purple scales with flecks of gold scales. She didn't care because they were having fun.
Soon Static's trip down memory lane was interrupted when more Crawlers and a new creature. This creature was humanoid in nature, but missing its bottom half. It had shoulders, but after that instead of arms it faded into a string of dangly bones, its head a skull, and boney spikes coming out of its blue body.
The new creature let out a high pitched screech as it suddenly propelled itself forward. Static used his tail to push the creature into the wall.
"Gavin! Get the Crawlers! I've got this one!" Static called as the creature let out a yowl and charged at him again.Gavin nodded and turned to the Crawlers, cocking his glove, which barely stayed on him, his fingers barely reaching the rings. There were at least 20 Crawlers coming after Gavin.
The skull headed creature charged at Static, raising its bone string arms at Static. Static acted quickly, sinking his teeth into the only flesh on this thing, the abdomen. The creature let out a screech of pain as Static's fangs sunk into it.
Static could hear Gavin using the Static Waves to kill the Crawlers. Static pulled away from the shocked creature, his mouth dripping with glowing, green blood.
The thing grew enraged, its empty eyes glowing a deep green, lighting up the whole tunnel. Static stood there shocked for only a moment before he cocked the sliding bit of his glove and pointed at the spectre. Soon a wave shot out and killed the thing, its eyes going dark, no longer illuminating the tunnel. Static then turned his attention to the Crawlers. Static saw Gavin being overwhelmed, he quickly used his tail to sweep away the small humanoids. Static stepped on one, crushing its head and making its bioluminescent, green blood squirt everywhere.
"Nice one!" Gavin called as he shot a Static Wave at a Crawler. "Now we know they can be killed with brute strength!"
Static gave a thumbs up as he quickly slammed another one into the wall with his tail.
Static cocked his glove and blasted two Crawlers that were headed in his direction.
Static watched as Gavin quickly blasted one crawler and kicked away another. Now at only a few crawlers left, they had given up on Static and were going for the easier target, Gavin.
Static quickly blasted the Crawlers, killing the last five but hitting Gavin in the foot. Static gasped as the Crawlers fell away and he saw the gash on Gavin's leg.
He watched as Gavin fell to the ground. "Oh crap! Are you okay?" Static asked as he rushed to Gavin's side. "We need to get you back to town so we can get you treated!" Static fretted as he was about to lift Gavin.
"No!" Gavin protested. "Give me a light. I'll stay here. You go get that book. You have to."
"Gavin! You can't just stay here! We have to get you treated now!"
"No!" Gavins snapped, and Static flinched. "Go get that dang book! Go get that book already! The world needs you Static! The people of my town NEED you!"
Static looked stunned as Gavin yelled at him. His voice echoing through the tunnel. Static sighed as he reached into his backpack and grabbed a small light. He set it next to Gavin and turned it on.
"Fine. Stay right here. Keep that glove in case you get attacked again. Yell if you need me okay?"Gavin nodded. Static got up from his crouching position and started running down the tunnel. He ran and ran until he saw a dim, green light at the end of the tunnel.
"There's always light at the end of the tunnel." Static though as he started to slow down. He wasn't a very fast runner, but still he made it to the end of the tunnel quickly.
Static stopped as he saw a pedestal, it looked like a jaw, with eyes inscribed on it, all of them closed, hovering over it was a black book, it had green, dimly glowing, tentacles.
The pedestal had the words "Horrors await you if you take the Book." inscribed on it, but Static paid no mind as he looked up at the book.
There was a green, open eye on the cover. The title read '𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝓪𝓷𝓲𝓬 𝓖𝓻𝓲𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓲𝓮" underneath the eye on the cover.
"Bingo!" Static cheered as he grabbed the book and pulled it close to him. As soon as the book left the pedestal the thing uprooted from the ground. It had stone tentacles that it walked on. The jaw rotated to face Static, and it let out a growl.
"Oh great! Just great!" Static spat as the creature came charging at him. Static quickly cocked his glove, blasting the creature. But it was not deterred. Static looked shocked.
The creature let out a screech as it charged at Static again, clamping its jaws closed on the loose end of his jacket.
Static quickly used his tail to hit the creature away from him.
Static stared at the creature as it thrashed around on his jacket. He noticed a small, glowing crack. He quickly used the sharp claws of his gloves to stab into the crack. The creature let out a scream as it started to crack and glow.
Static watched with fear as the creature released him, the stone from its body flew everywhere, revealing its true body underneath. It was dark black and blue, in its mouth was a long green tongue, it had no eyes, and no actual teeth. The creature let out a squeal as it charged at Static again, this time clamping onto his tail and thrashing.
It did no harm, only drooled on him. Static quickly cocked his glove again. After a small delay he shot the creature with the wave. The thing yelped as a hole was blasted right through its head, its green blood spewing everywhere.
Static shook off the blood. He clutched the Grimoire and started sprinting back down the tunnel for Gavin.
