Tech walked through the pathways of Lower Pabu. No matter where he walked, the area seemed scarce. He wasn't sure if he was paranoid or not but he could've sworn people were ignoring him.

He climbed down the steps, towards the beach and saw Valerie staring at the water. The sun has set but the moon hasn't risen just yet.

"Val." He started walking up to her, but Valerie didn't look at him. "Val?" He placed a hand on shoulder.

Valerie jumped away from him. "Stay away!" She screamed.

"Valerie what's going on?" Tech questioned and moved towards her again. "It's me, Tech."

"You're not Tech." She spat.

"What?" Tech was visibly confused. "What are you talking about? I am Tech."

"Tech died on Eriadu!" She screamed. "My Tech died on that railcar. YOU killed him."

"V-Val I don't understand?" Tech reached his hand towards her.

She smacked his hand away and grabbed her lightsaber. "You are not Tech. You are CX-2 and you'll never ever lay a single hand on my daughter."

Valerie ignited her lightsaber. The gray blade glowed in the dusk sky. "Val-" Tech started but she swung her lightsaber and just before it connected with his neck-

Tech bolted up in the bed, a cold sweat dripped down his neck. It was pitch black in the room but after a few seconds his eyes adjusted to the darkness. He looked around and nothing was out of place. The window was open and a slight breeze moved the curtains.

He looked over to the other side of the bed and saw Valerie's back was to him. She was still soundly sleeping, unaware of the nightmares that were plaguing Tech's mind. He leaned over her shoulder and saw her hugging the pillow. Any other moment he would've enjoyed her just looking so adorable.

Tech eyes trailed to her neck and lingered for a curiously long minute before he shook his head and carefully got out of the bed so as to not to disturb her. He left the room and into the living area. He walked to the sink and poured himself a glass of water, chugging it.

Tech stood there for a moment. Convincing himself that everything was okay.

"How can you stand there and pretend to be the man I once loved?" Tech whipped around at Valerie's voice but he was still by himself.

"It's all in my head." He told himself. "I am Tech." But the voices in his head seemed to be winning.

Soft crying pulled Tech out of his own head. He looked back down the hall and walked towards where the crying was coming from. He paused in front of the nursery. He looked back at their closed door. It seemed that Valerie hadn't heard her yet. Tech decided to let Valerie keep sleeping and walked into Hope's room.

The little infant was fussing in her crib when he walked up to her.

"What seems to be ailing you, Sparkplug?" He leaned over her. Hope's fussing quieted down when she saw him and started chewing on her hand. "This would be easier to tell me what's wrong if you could talk." Hope's response was to kick her little feet in the air. "Is it okay to pick you up?"

Hope cooed out her response through her hand. Tech nodded and carefully picked her up, resting her head on his shoulder. This action seemed to soothe the little infant. Tech sat in the rocking chair in the room and looked at her window, Valerie seemed to have accidently left it open. Tech would've closed it if only it weren't for the little baby Moon-yo sleeping on the windowsill. He had noticed this particular Moon-yo seemed to be hanging around Hope more and more.
