I Meet Some Puking Zombies

I don't remember the dream with every detail but it went something like this:

It was a bright, sunny morning. I was sitting at a picnic table in a park. I didn't know exactly where I was, but it all looked very familiar–the tall evergreen trees, dirt trails, the accents of the people talking around me and the red squirrels scampering around the bark of the trees. I had definitely been here before.

A small girl around the age of seven or eight was feeding a crow some sunflower seeds. The big bird was pecking at her hand, and she giggled each time its beak touched her skin. She turned around to her mother, calling her back. She ran off towards a playground where her mother was sitting on a bench. The mother hugged her daughter.

I looked around more. Around me were several more picnic tables, each made of stone. Above me and all the picnic tables was a large green roof. I took a deep breath. The air smelled of BBQ. I saw a big black barbeque at each end of the rows of picnic tables put together. A young man, probably in his 20s, was cooking meat on the grill. A lady, around the same age, was standing beside him. She was leaning on his shoulder now and then and laughing at his jokes. The lady had long hair going down to her waist. Her hair wasn't quite brown, but not blonde either. It was somewhere in the middle. Her skin was pale, but she looked like she had tanned a bit not too long ago. She was wearing a long, flowy navy skirt that reached her ankles and a white blouse. The man had long, curly brown hair in a ponytail. His skin was light brown, like a cinnamon stick. He was wearing a black Star Wars shirt with a picture of Darth Vader on the front. He had long black sweatpants and a grey zip-up sweatshirt. The weirdest part about both of them was that their faces weren't there. They had a smoky mist in front of it. I couldn't see their eyes, nose, mouth, or any of their facial features. It was fascinating looking at them. I almost felt jealous of them. I would watch as the man would flip a burger patty in the air and the lady would cheer. I had always enjoyed watching couples spend time together. It was so sweet and beautiful.

Suddenly, the beautiful scene turned grim. The lady started vomiting excessively. I quickly got up from sitting and rushed to the edge of the row of picnic tables. She wouldn't stop puking. I gaged in disgust. I saw the lady had thrown up all over the man, too. He got covered in her last meal. It was truly disgusting. He started crying and wailing like a child. Then he, too, started puking, just like his girlfriend. I suddenly realized a horrific truth. They were moving slowly towards me. I screamed and scrambled backwards. I tripped and fell on the hard pavement. I grunted and quickly got back. I ran far away from them. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. Suddenly, I tripped again and fell flat on my face (thankfully it was dirt, so it didn't hurt that much). I tried to get up, but I couldn't. My legs were so heavy I couldn't lift them. I screamed again as I saw the couple coming. I groaned and grunted, trying to move my legs. I looked back up at the man and lady. They were now cloning themselves into doubles. And then triples. Then quadruples. They wouldn't stop multiplying. I became surrounded. The clones and the originals closed in on me, all vomiting more than a normal person. I watched in terror as the puke turned into burning flames. I screeched in horror and yelled at them to go away. I hurriedly covered my head with my arms. I laid there for several minutes shivering in fear before looking up hesitantly.

Everything was gone. The clones. The couple. The fire. The puke. My legs felt normal again, and I stood up with no problem. I looked around. I did not know where I was now. I was in the middle of a forest. Tall, thick trees loomed above and all around me. Crows squawked in the distance. I took a step forwards. Twigs cracked under my shoe. I started walking around the woods, not knowing where I was going. Suddenly, I heard a crack behind me. I spun around quickly. Nothing was there. I turned around and kept walking. Another crack. I spun around quicker this time. This time, I saw a little flame on the path I was walking on. I gasped. The flame grew bigger and bigger. I watched as the flame surged to the tops of the trees. It grew and spread faster than I could blink. Trees became engulfed in flames. Now, the flames were chasing me. I ran. I ran for my life. I sprinted through the trees as branches and leaves and bushes scratched and clawed at me. I could feel blood on my face, dripping down my face. My cheeks burned. I kept running and screaming. I was running so fast; I didn't see the tree in front of me. I went headfirst into its trunk. The flames swallowed me whole as I blacked out.
