It's been a few days since that almost-kiss with Sergeant Morgan, and I've been thinking about it constantly. I barely even know the guy, and yet, every time I'm near him, something sparks inside me. It's annoying. I've spent all this time aggravating him, pushing his buttons, but somehow, in the middle of all that, I ended up feeling something for him.

I sighed as I dragged myself around camp, lost in my thoughts. The whole thing was stupid. I mean, come on. Feelings? For him? I barely even understood what I was feeling, let alone why.

Before I could spiral any further, I felt someone's arm wrap around my shoulders. I glanced over and saw Ben grinning at me. "Heard about some secret shed in the woods that the students use for...fun," he said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.

I groaned, shaking him off. "Yeah, well, you go have fun looking for that," I said dryly, brushing his arm off my shoulder. My mood wasn't up for jokes today, especially not about some secret hookup spot. I shoved past Ben just as Adrian came into view, walking towards us.

Adrian, being the absolute idiot he is, put me in a headlock the second I got close. "Hey! No fair!" I exclaimed, trying to wiggle out of his grip while Ben and Brian laughed at my predicament. I shot them both a glare, but it only made them laugh harder.

"You little brat," Adrian growled playfully, tightening his grip.

I grinned up at him. "You know I was right this morning, no need to be mad at me for it," I shot back, knowing exactly how to push his buttons.

Just then, I saw Sergeant Morgan step out of the building, and despite my best efforts, my heart skipped a beat when he smirked at me. Blushing lightly, I quickly got over it and called out, "Sergeant Morgan! Come help me! Adrian's abusing his power!"

I heard him laughing before he strolled over, looking far too amused. "How are you boys doing this morning?" he asked, his eyes flicking between us.

Before anyone else could answer, I butted in, "Not so great. Tell Adrian to let me go because he can't handle the truth," I whined dramatically.

Sergeant Morgan just laughed, and I groaned inwardly. "Y'all are nothing but traitors," I muttered. Then, turning back to Adrian, I added, "I'll pay you to let me go."

"No."

"What?! Come on!" I protested, but it only made them laugh more. "This isn't fair," I grumbled, eventually giving up the fight and resigning myself to my fate as Adrian kept me locked in his grip.

They started a conversation that completely excluded me while I was stuck in the headlock, so I just tuned out, glaring at the ground. After what felt like forever, Adrian finally let me go, and I stumbled away, brushing myself off dramatically.

Brian chuckled. "Don't go."

"No. You're all traitors. I'm going to my cabin," I said firmly, turning on my heel and marching off while they all laughed behind me.

When I got back to my cabin, I froze the second I walked in. Chad was rifling through my stuff. "What the fuck are you doing?" I snapped, anger surging through me.

Chad jumped, dropping whatever was in his hand. I glanced down and saw that he'd been holding a picture of me and my mom. My jaw clenched as I glared at him. "Why the fuck are you going through my stuff? Why the fuck do you have a picture of my mom and me?" I growled, taking a threatening step forward.

Chad stammered, opening his mouth to say something, but I wasn't in the mood to listen. He quickly backed out of the cabin, leaving me standing there, seething. I stared at the door for a moment before picking up the photo and putting it back in the drawer.
