The weather grew breezier, brighter, and warmer as the holidays passed, Arabella had woken up on the day of Career discussion day; not even knowing the feeling inside of her stomach. After lying in bed for a while thinking about the day ahead, she closed the book in her hand.
In this time more like another, she had wished that there was a window that she could look at even though the dark underground sea was beautifully stunning during the mornings. With the sun hitting the lake, all the fish swimming around and minding their own business.
Her and Sirius' short conversation from a couple of days ago, had been stuck in her head. Again she hadn't seen Remus at breakfasts, lunch, or dinner for the past couple of days. Meaning he had run off to somewhere again, remembering why she started to be distant in the first place.
During the day, she went to all of her classes like normal from History of Magic where James and Sirius got kicked out for putting a charm on Severus' quill to make it shoot out nothing but glitter. Like always, people were left laughing at their pranks, and Snape and the other Slytherins didn't find it funny.
By the time they had gone to potions, that was the one class she had seen Remus in after his days of going missing again.
Their conversations now had gone like they always did, short and sweet with nothing lingering around them. "What do you think I'm trying a new way with my hair?" Teasing as she had pigtails in her hair, with some funky hat that Ruby had made for her. That was red, green and almost shaped like a French hat. "It's like one of those French people wear?"
"Do you know the one that the French people wear?" Remus inquired, turning up from the potion for a second to look at her.
"No. But Clara does." Shrugging her shoulders with a smile. He didn't draw himself to look up even though that's what he wanted to do. They knew that their conversations weren't going to last outside of this class.
Both want to protect each other from, their troubles. Remus did everything inside to make sure Arabella didn't find out about him being a werewolf. After that article came out about the new book that is being released. He felt like it was a matter of time before she would find out. Then leave, more than she had already done.
He tried to forget about what had happened during the New Year. The fact that she and Thomas were messing around again, also was something that he would like to forget. "No, can we pay attention to our potion before Slughorn comes around and says we are wrong about something." Said Remus.
"It was a really important question about my hat." She smiled knowing she wore the hat for wanting to start a new conversation with him. "Serious and important,"
"Very Serious?" Remus turned bent down over the cauldron a little bit.
"Oh yeah," Chuckling, ducking her head down to see whatever he was doing inside of the cauldron.
From the distance, Thomas had worked with Clara who saw him looking at the two of them speaking to each other.
It was always nothing but smiles between the two of them. But thankfully, Thomas knew once they left this classroom. Remus and Arabella had acted like they didn't know each other. For the better and the worst of everything.
Like she had predicted once they had left the room, Remus went on his way moving from his friends. He had to go back to the hospital wing, he had asked Madam Promfery if it was okay to just go to potions today. With a headache taking over his mind. It was almost as if, once he had stepped into the classroom everything had gone away inside of his mind.
Inside of his head, he thought he was doing the right thing. By not saying anything to Arabella and protecting himself for the best. Since, James, Sirius, and Peter were the only people who knew about his lycanthropy.
