Location: Rory Peters house
Year: 2003
Nadia had her legs going across Rory's lap, watching the news. The velvety loveseat cushions her mocha colored skin, as she leans into it.
Rory sat back pulling his blue bandana over his eyes, keeping one hand on Nadia's leg. The couple were still a little tired. Their date to a fancy new restaurant yesterday, lasted longer than expected.
After eating, they left Rory's car in the parking lot, to stroll through an abandoned park. The swings were rusted, and the slide wasn't exactly safe to slide down, but the two didn't care. They stargazed, slow danced, and just talked about anything.
With knitted eyebrows, Nadia glanced at her pale boyfriend. The young woman tried to brush off what Rory was going to say last night, but she couldn't help but feel it was serious. Even though he insisted it wasn't.
Flashback
"Nadia there's something important I have to tell you, I-I mean ask you." Rory cringed to himself, as he stuttered.
As they lay on the mulch, Nadia snuggled closer to her boyfriend. His scent being a mixture of mint, aftershave, and vanilla, drove her mad.
"Go ahead." Nadia whispered with a smile.
Rory cleared his throat, trying to focus so he doesn't stumble over his words again. His train of thought would simply disappear, every time she smiled his way. Pair that with how the moon shone on her perfect skin, and the twenty three year old, felt like he was falling all over again.
He sat up, prompting his girlfriend to do the same. "We've been together for almost three years now, and umm I just- wh-what if... Rory discreetly put his hand in his pants pocket, feeling the smooth material that covered the tiny box.
Nadia grew worried over his troubled features. "Baby, you know you can talk to me." She cupped his chiseled face with precaution.
As the familiar brown pools of honey met Rory's eyes, he so desperately wanted to just get the words out. It's just four words. But, what he has right now with her, is too precious for him to take the risk of rejection. At least just yet.
"Uh you know what, it's not even important. Nevermind." Rory chuckled with little humour.
Nadia narrowed her eyes, slipping her hands off of his smooth face. "But you just said it"- "honestly, it was so irrelevant I forgot what I was even going to ask." Rory said hurriedly standing up before helping her up too.
