Taylor stood in front of the mirror, fingers tracing the edge of her reflection. She barely recognized the woman staring back. Her hair was slightly tousled, eyes shimmering with a depth of emotion she hadn't fully processed. The weight of her choices had settled in her chest like a storm, fierce and unrelenting.

It had been weeks since her break with Joe. Weeks that blurred into a haze of sleepless nights and questions that had no answers. She had thought loving Joe was the endgame, the forever. But something had shifted. The love that once felt like a steady current had become distant, a faint whisper she could no longer hear.

And then there was Travis.

Her best friend. The man who had been there, through everything, who she trusted with her heart even before she understood what that meant. His presence was a comfort, and recently, it had become something more.

"You're quiet," Travis' voice broke through her thoughts. He was leaning against the doorframe, watching her with concern. His casual posture didn't hide the intensity in his eyes.

Taylor forced a small smile. "Just thinking."

"About him?" he asked, his voice carefully neutral.

She shook her head, hesitating for a moment. "No... about us."

His expression softened, but he remained where he was, as if sensing that she needed the space. "You don't have to rush into anything, Tay. I know things are complicated."

"That's the problem," she sighed, sitting on the edge of the bed. "It shouldn't be complicated. It was always supposed to be easy with Joe, but I... I don't know when I stopped choosing him. And now—" her voice faltered. "Now I'm scared of what it means if I choose you instead."

Travis crossed the room and sat beside her, close but not touching. "You're not choosing me instead of him," he said softly. "You're choosing yourself. And if that leads you to me, then that's okay."

His words hung in the air, wrapping around her like a safety net. Taylor's breath hitched. She wanted so desperately for things to make sense again, for her heart to be sure. But the truth was, she had already made her choice a long time ago—somewhere between the moments they laughed at things only they understood, or when he held her hand through her lowest points.

"I choose you and me," she whispered, the words trembling but true. "Religiously. Without question, without doubt."

Travis turned to her, his face reflecting the same emotions she felt inside—relief, fear, and an undeniable love. He reached out, finally closing the space between them, his hand gently brushing hers.

"And I choose you too," he said, his voice steady. "Always."

The moment stretched out, as if the world had paused for them, allowing them to exist in this space, free from past regrets and future uncertainties. Taylor didn't know what was next, but she didn't have to. All that mattered was that they were here, together, and for the first time in a long time, she felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be.

They kiss calmly only to speed up the kiss, becoming hasty and heated. Their steps automatically guide them out of the bathroom and straight to Taylor's room. Leaning forward, Taylor throws Travis on the bed and climbs onto his lap, never interrupting the junction of their soft lips. Travis' hands automatically go to the blonde's thin waist.

"Tay..." He whispers between the kiss, making the singer part her lips and kiss the man's thick neck. She lets out a sound for him to say "Do you really want this?"
