Amren stared at the sleeping male on the bed. Red hair spilled over the pillow, the fire silent as the death he was perhaps near. The male of shadows watched, staring hard.
"Fret not, shadowsinger, for though it has only been a few days, he will wake." Amrens own voice came out of her unmoving mouth. The male of shadows looked up to her.
"How could you know, Amren." His voice broke like a glass. Amren frowned. How did she know?
The red haired male twitched, only slighty. The pair of fae thought nothing of it, but when if happened again, they noted it.
"Is he okay?" The shadow asked.
Amren nodded uncertainly. "He wakes..." She said slowly.
An uncanny smile broke onto his face as the male of fire rose stiffly.

"Eris..." The shadow male broke of as he met the fire males eye. "What is wrong, my Eris?" His voice sounded blurry. Clouds began to swarm in Amrens vision as she craned her neck.
The fire whispered. "Too much... too much."
The last thing Amren saw was a disturbing smile before she was thrown back. The male of fire had exploded with power unwitnessed by Amren in all her fifteen thousand years of life. It was blinding, the fear that exploded along with it.
Amrens breathing wuickened as she stumbled back, crying out for help. None came. The world began to shake beneath her feet, rattling her bones.
"Please, help!" She screamed. A blinding pain over took her, and everything turned dark.

Her dream shifted to the same one she had every night, that followed all her visions, giving hr no time to wake and comprehend what she had just seen.

The beautiful male placed the flower behind her ear, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand. His white hair shone like a halo over his head.
The golden figures appeared next, mutilated and vile. ong beaks skewered the male, one by one, as each of the three monsters killed her mate.
"You didn't really think you could bring him, did you, Amren?" One of them hissed. The other two snickered.
"Poor little sister, poor, weak, thing. Don't you see you are home now?"

White hair was the first thing she noticed, the next her own screaming. Hands on her face, a name being repeated over and over, by a male with a voice brimming with worry. "Amren!" he said. "Amren, it's okay, Amren!" he repeated over and over.

She reached a hand to the one on her face, feeling around. She recognised it instantly.

"Varian." Her voice was dry as a desert, tearing at her throat. "Var... Varian." She whispered.

He sat back on his heel. "Yes, Amren, it's me. You're okay." He croaked, still cradling her face in his hands.

"I had..." The sentance didn't finish. She could only breath the real air.

"Another dream?" Varian supplied.

Amren nodded. "Water." she rasped.

Varian nodded, reaching for the empty glass on the bedside table and filling it with his magick.

"Thank you." She whispered, taking it from his hands and carefully raising it to her mouth. A little water splashed down her front, but she didn't care. Her hands still shook from the horrors of what she had seen. It wasn't helped by the disturbing presence of the peson in the door.

"Azriel." She sobbed slighty, a flush creeping up her neck.

"I'm sorry, Amren." He mumbled. For what, she didn't know, but she rather hoped it was for the shocking invasion of privacy. Her dream- vision swirled in the back of her mind as she jumped up and stormed over to him. He was shadow from her dream, and the red haired fire- Eris.

"What, were you just lurking in the halls? What are you doing here?" She snapped at the Illyrian. Her temper had always been a very tight leash, but, Azriel seeing her in a moment when she was so vunerable was infuriating.

"I heard screaming, I wanted to make sure you were okay!" He whisper-shouted. Amren frowned.

"You were worried about me?" She murmured.

"I was awake, I needed something to do!" He cried.

"So you came to check on me..." Amren trailed off. Azriel had always been the kindest, most sensitive of her family, but she had never thought he would care... And this was to be the male, if her vision had been correct, to watch his mate go up in flames, literally.

She slid her arms around his waist, pulling him in tightly. His response was hesitant, but he still wrapped his arms around her.

"Thank you." He whispered into her hair.

"Never mention it, or I will skin you." She snarled at him, and procceded to shove him out the door.

Varian had quickly rushed out after the shadowsinger, which, despite its irregularness, Amren hardly registered. She just sat down on the edge on the bed, and used time to weigh it up. Did she tell Varian what she saw? She never lied to him, of course, but if he didn't ask about it, she didn't have to tell him, did she?

But she wanted to. Gods, she wanted to. The male out in the hall, the lifeforce that mae her want to wake up in the morning, deserved to know. And she needed him, to help her decide what to do with this information.

In the morning, she decided.

Varian slipped back in silently, and hurried back over to wrap his arms around Amren. She gratefully rested her head on his shoulder, allowing herself to cry, finally.

"Do you want to tell me about your dream?" He whispered.

"Same as always." She quickly replied. He hadn't said vision, which surely meant she didn't have to tell him yet. Although, he didn't know she had visions. Amren was sure he suspected something to be wrong, but she hadn't told him anything.

She didn't know why.

"I am sorry, my dear." He mumbled, running a hand up her back. "Are you angry that Azriel came?"

"Azriel is a good friend. I hope he will be okay." With what was coming to his mate, she didn't say.

Varian met her eyes. "What do you think will happen? With Eris?"

Amren made a quick desicion, and that was to pretend she was fine. "Oh, I know for certain he will." Cockiness had always been a mask that worked well for her, but only sometimes with Varian. If he thought she was fretting about anything, he didn't let on.

"What?"

"You didn't think I was just a normal fae, did you?" Amren smirked. Varian, of course, knew she had received new powers from the cauldron in exchange for her sacrifice, he just didn't know what they were.

Varian sighed and pulled her back under the doona, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Sleep well, my dear."

She didn't.
