Noah follows you closely to the bedroom. When you enter the room, you turn to face him, and he closes the door behind him. You smile up at him, expecting him to try and put his hands on you, but he doesn't. He shoves his hands in his pockets and meets your gaze with a serious look.
"Guess it's probably time to talk about everything that's happened since I saw you last," he says softly. You take a deep breath and saunter over to the bed in the room to sit.
"Okay... talk, Noah. What is it you feel like you need to say?" you ask. Noah walks over to the window and stares out it, watching the leftover guests outside laugh and talk. He takes the time to speak gently as he explains everything that happened with Tiffany. He doesn't know you are already fully aware of it all. You wait for him to finish his testimony before you say anything. He tries his best to relay to you the unseriousness of their time together. He turns to look at you, obviously nervous as he waits for your response.
You take a deep breath and smile at him. "You know, I've already been told most of this," you start. His eyes widen in disbelief. "But... it's nice to hear you say it and take accountability for your actions. I'm not sure I was expecting you to do it so openly," you finish followed by a quiet chuckle. He stays quiet for a moment before saying anything else.
"I guess I'm not all that surprised that you know. You're friends with my friends. But, if you knew everything, why did you even bother to answer my text a week ago? I'm sure you weren't at all happy with me."
"I wasn't and I'm still not. We aren't going to be able to just pick back up from where we left off. But this time we have to do it right. No more hurting each other. I'm sick of it."
Noah turns to you, a softened and guilty look on his face. "Me too. I never wanted to hurt you. I'm just... really fucking stupid sometimes."
You chuckle lightly before going silent for a moment remembering how you treated him when this all started. "Well, I'm sure you remember how resistant I was of you at one time. I was so scared to let you love me, and for some stupid reason, after all this... you still do."
The silence falls over the room and you stare at each other. He suddenly grabs you gently but firmly by the wrist and pulls your body up into him, flush with his chest. He looks down at you with intensity, and it feels like his hands are shaking as they hold you into him. "Noah...?" you whisper. The tension is palpable, almost like you could cut it with a knife.
Without further hesitation, he leans in and crashes his lips into yours, almost forcefully. You melt into his grasp like always. You feel his lips turn into a smile as he holds you up, bringing your body impossibly closer to him. His lips part, just enough for you to taste the saliva on his tongue. A taste you didn't know you'd been craving so badly all this time. Just as you're about to get more intensely involved in the kiss, he pulls himself away and takes a step back, still holding onto you, a hand on the small of your back.
"I'm sorry..." he whispers, running a hand over his face in frustration.
"Don't you dare." You say, pushing his hand out of his face and pulling him back into you, melding your lips together once more. This time, more fervently. The kiss goes on for who knows how long, and it feels like time stops. The only reason you pull away is to catch your breath. You feel dizzy when you meet his gaze again, like you've lost control. You've been so angry, but you've craved his kiss this whole time, driving you insane and making it impossible to give yourself to another man.
How are you ever going to stop yourself now?
You have to.
The realization of the situation hits you all over again and you pull yourself away to sit back down on the bed, placing your face in your hands. His hand follows you, reluctant to let you go until you are out of reach.
