~~Harley's P.O.V~~

I pulled up in front of the mansion turning the car off. The crickets sung the late evenings song while the moon shone bright after the storm. I looked over watching my child lie there asleep—tear tracks on her rose colored cheeks. I tapped her lightly.
"Lucy, stay in the car. I needed ta talk ta J for a sec," I said giving her a warm smile.
"Ok," she muttered.
I took a deep breath walking out the car and towards the house. My heart thumped against my chest with every step I took. What was he going ta think? How would he react to me bringing her back ta our home? Anger rushed over me even having ta question myself on his thoughts. Fuck his thoughts, he either accepted her or he'd lose the both of us.
I stormed inside the house going straight to where I'd know he'd be..in his office.
My eyes closed taking another deep breath. I knocked on the door waiting on the man on the other side to answer.
My heart dropped hearing him say come in. I quietly opened the door walking inside his dim-lit office.
There he stood at the fireplace watching the flames clearly lost in thought. "Puddin," I called out stopping in the middle of the room. The crackling from the flames was the only sound present. His ice storm orbs met my saddened ones. "Come to me baby," he said holding his arms out to hold me.
The tears come back as quickly as they left running into his embrace. I inhaled his expensive scent crying into his chest. He picked me up with ease sitting on the sofa. Still holding me, his ring covered fingers caressed my hair while giving me gentle kisses on my forehead.
"I'm so sorry about your sister sweets. I know how much she meant to you."
I just nodded my head while using his shirt as my own personal Kleenex. I looked up at him again. His eyes told me that he was being genuine with his words. He ever-so-gently moved my hair from my face looking deeper into my eyes.
"What is it baby?"
He knew, he always knew when something was up with me.
"Puddin, we need ta talk," I said getting off his lap and sitting next to him."
His expression changed into nothing at all. "About?"
"Our daughter is here. She's in the car."
He looked away for a second probably lost in what to say next. "Does she know the truth?" He asked curiously looking back at me.
"She thinks we're her auntie and uncle. She did strongly believe we're her parents, but I fixed that. The truth died with Delia and now I prefer ta keep it that way," I explained.
He just nodded his head in agreement. "Bring her in."

~~Joker's P.O.V~~

I paced back and forth in my office fighting the urge not to hurt Harley. She took what was MINE! She stole sixteen years from me all because of what? She didn't trust me! She didn't think a was capable of being a parent! What did she think I'd kill my own child?! Having a child was not the plan! My life was too hectic to simply bring a child into it, but it happened and I knew nothing about it! I knew when I saw her cute little face at the bank rubbery that day that she was mine. It stayed on my fucking mind the entire day. Harley sat me down..looked me in the fucking eyes and LIED to me! I hit my head against the wall upset with myself for believing her. I pulled my hair trying my hardest to calm down. A soft knock at the door only gave me seconds to do what I was good at, putting a smile on my face. I slicked my hair back quickly fixing my shirt. I met this kid before, but she was just a kid that I thought belonged to someone else. For the first time, I was meeting my daughter and I was scared shitless.
I looked towards the door with a smile and covering my true emotions, "Come in."

~~Lucy's P.O.V~~

I don't remember getting out the car. Everything felt so unreal, I was numb to it all. Auntie Harleen, knocked on the door and someone instructed us to come in. She walked inside with me closely behind her.
I stepped from behind her. It was the odd green haired man that everyone was afraid of but me. I couldn't find any emotion in his expression, but his bolt blue eyes showed me a million thoughts roaming through his mind. He slowly walked over to where we were standing stopping close enough to us.
"Come here kid," he said holding his arms out. He was a little unsure of himself..probably scared he'll be rejected from the kind gesture. He was out of his element. He was totally out of his comfort zone. I could feel the hot tears at the brim of my eyes running into his arms. I cried, violently shaking in his comfort. His comfort was what I needed and longed for all these years. He stroked my hair rocking me back and forth.
"You had a bad day kid and no..this feeling we'll never go away. The pain we feel when losing someone is embedded in our hearts until our last breath. A piece of our sanity leaves our soul"– he stopped mid-sentence looking down at me. I looked up at him eager for him to finish his wise words.
"And if you let this bad day consume you, you'll one day realize you've lost yourself..your mind and once you lose that, there's no coming back from it," he explained reading my thoughts. "And I'll do everything in my power to not let you go down that path of destruction."
I went back into his embrace taking in his words. I felt extra warmth surround me. It was Auntie Harleen and it felt complete. She and I cried in his safe arms. I felt so safe with the only family I had left.
