As Honda stepped off the train and onto the familiar yet alien concrete ground, he looked around and observed his surroundings cautiously, though he had a strange sense of safety. Maybe it wasn't even that he felt safe. He felt nostalgiac. Before him stood a rebuilt yet misunderstood city. He noticed a road at the side of the street, and another pathway at the parallel side of the road. The road was like a permanent zebra-crossing, striped black and white all over. He looked over and saw a line of several shops and other businesses huddled against eachother in the form of attached, worn-out buildings. He noticed an abundance of ravens everywhere, on the ground and on the roofs of buildings. The only illumination came from the street lamps, which cloaked the city in a red veil, masking it from the contrasting dark blue shades of nightfall. "Welcome to New Tokyo." Deimos said.
Honda wasted no time, knowing his objective as he speedwalked up the sidewalk to get to the ruined castle, his shorter... adversary, we'll say, following behind. The cold night air seeped into Hondas skin and bones as he pushed forward toward his destination. He noticed he was receiving strange looks from strangers, and he returned the same strange looks in their favor. The inhabitants of this city were strange. He couldn't describe what was up with them, but everything around every corner was off. Honda glanced to his side as he passed a snake-charmer who was performing to a gold coloured, three headed serpent. The tune got stuck in his head. Maybe it charmed him too.
As they reached the scarred doors of the castle, Deimos caught up with the samurai. "Damn, you sure are eager to get in here, huh?" He said, looking up at him as Honda side-eyed him. "Why wouldn't I be?" The samurai replied with subtly more emotion in his voice than usual. There were two guards standing on opposite sides of the door, crossing their staffs to block off the entrance of the castle. Deimos stood forward, and the two guards recognised him. Honda noticed this and figured Deimos was either well known or feared. He'd rather choose to think he was well known.
As they walked in, Honda looked around at the tight walls of the corridor. Black stone adorned with violent orange lettering. "It's nice, eh?" Deimos asked. Honda only nodded. "You haven't seen half of it yet." He boasted. The walked until they reached a turn to the right, and begun to walk down a spiraling staircase. Honda noticed something as they walked down. Deimos kept glancing at him for some reason.
The duo reached the bottom of the stairs in complete absence of any sound besides their own footsteps. Before them stood yet another set of doors. But these ones were not worn or scarred. They were pristine and new. Deimos took a step infront of Honda and opened the door for him, and the grand light emanating from behind the doorway blinded and startled him slightly.
"See what I mean?" Deimos said with a slight smug expression. Honda was so in awe that he didn't respond. He immediately stepped through into the massive chamber. It was like a huge room, maybe the biggest he had ever been in in his life. The walls and floor were steel, and several pillars upheld the ceiling. A couple of beams were strewn across the vast arena, leading to different rooms and such. In the middle of the giant space was a particularly large pillar with an elevator in the middle of it. The steel beams attached to the grand elevator central to the arena. There were several pieces of heavy machinery scattered around the place, normal things like tanks and planes and peculiar things that caught Honda's eye like humanoid machines and ones even shaped like Kaiju.
Before he has realised, Deimos was ahead of him. He saw the knight signal to him to follow ahead and catch up, and that he did. Honda and Deimos made their way up to the elevator.
