May was never one to gravitate toward social gatherings, and it wasn't just a fleeting disinterest—it was a fundamental aspect of her personality. To her, these events seemed to represent a relentless series of obligations rather than enjoyable occasions. The idea of mingling with a crowd and engaging in superficial conversation held no appeal for her. She found the constant need to keep idle chatter exhausting and rather pointless. Topics of discussion, such as the latest headlines or the intricacies of local politics, felt mundane and uninspiring.
For May, social interactions often seemed like a chore rather than an opportunity for connection. The small talk that pervaded these gatherings—often revolving around news stories that barely skimmed the surface of any real depth, or local political issues that she found tedious—did little to spark her interest. She was disenchanted by the predictability and lack of substance in these conversations, which seemed to drift aimlessly without ever diving into anything truly meaningful. The effort to feign enthusiasm or engage in topics she found dull was something she simply couldn't muster, making the idea of social events all the more unappealing to her.
At least, thats what she faced the majority of the time; As of late, the interest of going out with a small group of friends and playing along with their boresome version of "fun" had become more interesting. The small group she acquired as friends worked well enough for what they were. Tonight she was going to a dinner party hosted by one of the women, Lily.
Lily was kind enough, though her disposition was often overshadowed by what many considered to be naiveté. She had an innate ability to see the best in others, a trait that led her to believe in the inherent goodness of people despite their flaws. This optimism was both her strength and her Achilles' heel. Lily's forgiving nature allowed her to overlook any signs of harshness, attributing such behavior to temporary misfortunes or rough patches in their lives. It was this very quality that made her an enduring presence in the lives of those she met, including May.
May, a successful model with a striking presence, was used to the whirlwind of photo shoots and the intense scrutiny that came with her career. On this particular day, she was working with Lily, who was leading the shoot. Lily's approach to photography was marked by her relentless enthusiasm and unflagging politeness. She would constantly chatter away, her voice a high-pitched, nasally addition to the session that seemed to pierce through the professional veneer of the shoot.
Despite the irritation that Lily's incessant talking and overly friendly demeanor caused May, she couldn't help but be somewhat captivated. Lily was, after all, undeniably beautiful in her own right. Standing at a modest height with a fuller figure that many might consider curvaceous, Lily carried herself with a grace that was at odds with her constant chatter. Her breasts were full and prominent, and her long red hair cascaded down her back, flowing out from beneath a simple beanie that framed her face. This blend of physical beauty and personal charm initially held May's interest.
Yet, as the minutes ticked by and the session dragged on, the initial spark of attraction was rapidly overshadowed by May's growing annoyance. Lily's presence, though well-meaning, became more of a nuisance as time went on. Her attempts to engage May in cheerful conversation and her ceaselessly upbeat attitude began to grate on May's nerves. The gap between their personalities was increasingly apparent, making the photo shoot feel more like an endurance test than a creative collaboration.
