Mothwing glared as she watched her friend's father get thrown into the wagon, and Tigerclaw and Darkstripe soon after.
"They're weak!" She exclaimed, trying to push through the crowd of yowling cats. "They need a hospital, not an asylum!!"
But none of them listened, Pinestar himself locked up the cage, glaring at his son who was leaning against Darkstripe for support.
"You're no son of mine." He hissed, bearing his teeth.
"And you're no father!" Darkstripe replied venomously.
Pinestar's cold gaze landed on him, and Darkstripe held it with his own, the two seemed to just scowl at each other for a while, before Pinestar finally yowled; "Take them away!"
Mothwing's blood was boiling, she didn't know why she was so angry, it kind of scared her. She barely knew Tigerclaw and Darkstripe, yet she felt like she had to defend them with every fiber of her being.
"LET THEM GO!" She shrieked, finally reaching the front. Her claws slid out, she was ready to claw Pinestar's fur off.
But... why? She wondered.
Pinestar turned his stone-cold gaze to her, and for a moment her heart skipped a beat. Who was she kidding? She couldn't fight him, she'd be dead for sure.
But her fury was so prominent that she could hardly sense anything else. "Let them go." She growled.
"Mothwing," Pinestar's gaze turned to fake sympathy, "they need to be treated, all three of them have gone completely mad, we can't just stand by and watch them suffer."
"Since when does love make people suffer?" She questioned, and Pinestar sighed.
"You don't understand-" he began.
"No." Mothwing snarled, "you're the one who doesn't understand that it doesn't matter who a cat loves or not."
Before Pinestar could respond, Leafpool came galloping in on Phillipe, she pulled him to a halt in front of the moving wagon and she jumped off, and many cats gasped at the sight of her in such a beautiful dress.
"Stop!" She yelled at the driver. She ran around the wagon and looked inside at her father. "Papa!"
"Oh Leafpool!" He gasped, and Tigerclaw and Darkstripe looked up in confusion. "I thought I'd lost you!" Fireheart whispered.
"Let him out! He's hurt!" Leafpool exclaimed, looking at the asylum officer with worried eyes.
"I'm afraid we can't do that, miss." He said. "But we'll take very, very good care of him."
"My father's not crazy!" Leafpool hissed, she turned to Pinestar, praying that maybe he'd take her side on things. "Pinestar, tell him! Mothwing?"
Before Moth could speak, Pine stepped in. "Leafpool you know how loyal I am to your family, but Fireheart's been making some very unbelievable claims. All three of them are mad."
She glanced at Tigerclaw, and she could see the pain in his eyes. She looked back at Pinestar, realizing what he must know.
"He told you... didn't he?" She said.
"What? That he's a homosexual?" Pinestar's nose scrunched up in disgust. "Yes."
"And you've thrown him out like he's worthless." Leafpool concluded, stepping backwards in complete and utter disgust. "You're a monster."
Pinestar grinned evilly at her, and fear was building up in her gut, growing taller and taller as he continued to grin at her.
"Barley," Pine turned to the baker, and one of the very few cats who were nice to Leaf. "Back me up here, Fiery here has been making quite a lot of odd claims, hasn't he?"
