Bada's POV
I rubbed my eyes with my hand, the other felt so numb and heavy. Looking beside me, Hera was sleeping soundly on my arm. There was a little panic in me but I managed to push it back. The sun was peeking through the glassed wall overlooking the subdivision which happened to be where we were facing at. No wonder why Hera was shaking last night.
I can't believe we fell asleep like this. Trying to pull my arm out was quite the feat. I did not want to wake her up. Once I slid it out carefully, I held her body and gently placed her comfortably on the couch.
Damn my muscles hurt. Sleeping like that is not good. As I stare at Hera, the sunlight made her dark brown locks lighter. It looked good on her. She looks...beautiful. Despite not wanting to dye her hair from what I've seen on interviews, she should definitely try it sometimes.
Nevermind that. What happened? I vividly remember telling her to stay at my guest bedroom. How did we fall asleep? I pondered hard on my thoughts while walking to the kitchen. Rummaging through the drawers, I accidentally glanced on my calendar. I religiously jot down my schedule since I tend to forget it a lot.
By accidentally, I actually mean that. I forgot today was practice and by the looks of it, I am an hour late already. As much as I wanted a cup of coffee so I could drown with my thoughts of what happened last night, I can't bare to even think of disappointing my group.
The choice was obvious.
I took a pen and wrote on a sticky note, telling Hera I have some business to tend to. Some instructions as well on whatever she could possibly need. After that I took the quickest bath and left, securing the house thrice before I was confident it was safe.
🌊
"And three two one, again! Five six seven eight, eight seven six, bend it more!"
The elevator was full and was taking so long hence I had to run up the stairs. Lusher's voice echoes through the hallway and it became louder when I swung our practice room open.
Panting, I forced a smile. "Hi everyone,"
"Eonnie!" Cheche reaches her hand out, walking towards me like a baby. Lusher snaps her head towards her, eyeing her position. Damn she's scary when this side of her gets out. No wonder why I made her assistant leader.
"Eonnie what took you so long? You weren't even responding to my call last night."
I walked towards all of them, dropping my bag beside the large mirrors they were facing on. Lusher gave me a cold look and she was the only one who didn't seem to enjoy my presence.
"I fell asleep, sorry guys," I lie, Tatter scoffs. She knows I don't just fall asleep. They know and only that blonde girl had the guts to lowkey call me out. Who could blame me though? That was the easiest lie I could run smoothly through my tongue.
"That's not-"
"Right? Is something wrong Bada eonnie? You can tell us," Minah and Kyma exchange glances before looking back at me. I shook my head no and clapped my hands shut together, the loud noise startling them in their places.
"We're pretty late and behind schedule. Is it really the time to talk about my personal life?" I threw a question to which I require no response from. Just as I expected, no one said anything. Lusher finally takes her place on the formation she started assembling before speaking.
"Now, what do we do?"
🌊
"I know the hook part is difficult, just try to practice it a bit more. If it doesn't work, we have time to change it. I'll see progress tomorrow. I require progress tomorrow," I manage to say through my panting, emphasizing that one word. I know I am being hard on them but this competition requires it.
"Alright everyone out. Except, you, Lusher."
"What? No fair!" Tatter whines and I gave her a look. After collecting their things, she herself lead the team out of the practice room.
It was finally just Lusher and I.
"Are you mad at me?" I started the conversation, her figure a few steps away from me fixing her duffle bag.
"Why? Should I be?"
"It seems like you didn't want me here,"
"I wanted you here but you were late."
"I am here, Lusher,"
She stops what she was busy about and stood up, walking closer towards me. I stood my ground and waited for her to inch closer.
"What's going on Bada. Somethings not," Lusher looks at me up and down. "Not right. You're not the type to miss practice by minutes. Let alone an hour,"
I sigh loudly in defeat. There's no choice but to tell her. As my assistant leader, the best way for her to understand and for this set-up to work is to be honest.
Lusher looks at me with an even more non-understandable look compared to a few minutes ago. Did I make the wrong decision my telling her?
"Bada is this a joke to you? Is BEBE a joke to you?"
"How can you say that to me, Lusher. You of all people," I walked towards her, almost pinning her to the wall when she kept backing away. Her words are cutting me through but she seems like a little puppy when I show dominance.
"I just wanted her to be safe!" I added.
"How easy for you to find somebody else right away," She snarls at me, her breath brushing against my nose.
"So its about that, huh?" I pulled myself away from her. She's taking this personally and I have no time to deal with it.
"You know it's wrong Bada. You're putting our careers in jeopardy by that stupid crush you have on Hera," Lusher proved her point, pointing at me. That's not nice. I held her hand and pushed it against the wall, locking her in place.
"Don't point your finger at me, you know I don't like that," I stare at her eyes, to which she responds.
"And don't force me, you know how much I like that," Lusher pulls the hem of cloth on my neckline and pulled me closer, her lips brushing against mine. For a moment the shock wouldn't allow me to pull away, but once I felt myself in control again, I managed to do so.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I wipe my lips with the back of my hand, not caring if it smudges the lipstick I had on. Lusher looks taken a back by her own actions, somewhat snapping out from whatever shit she was on a few seconds ago.
"Sorry,"
"Yeah you should be. This isn't 2018 Lusher," I shake my head sideways in disbelief. Sure we were a thing back then, but that doesn't give her the right to kiss me so suddenly after years of just professional dancing.
"Don't ruin the team by letting her get in the way,"
"Again, I was only trying to keep her safe. Besides shes basically the reason why I have a contract with JJ,"
"Yeah right that story all over again, I know. We know, trust me," she sarcastically answered, walking way past me. I turned to look at her, she's fixing her muffled crop top and acting all bitchy again even after what she has done to me.
"Look, whatever fine. I'll avoid her, but no more of whatever that was," I gave up. With the time constraints for the mission, I cannot deal with our team crumbling because of this. Lusher looks back, eyes locking on mine.
"Fine. See you again tomorrow, Bada eonnie,"
And with that she waltz out of the room closing it shut behind her. I fall to the ground, feeling defeated. My team or the person I like? I took my phone out and sighed when I remembered the message Hera sent hours ago. I couldn't even get myself to reply. I decided to shut my phone power and instead of pondering over this, might as well turn this raging feeling into a productive practice.
The details, the timing. Till every muscle in me gives up.
