What if hindi nila iniwan si Katherine?

Irene's POV

Okay, here we go again.

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, my heart pounding like crazy, holding a pregnancy test with those two unmistakable lines. Two lines. Shocks.

Hindi ko alam if I'm going to laugh or cry. I mean, Greggy and I already have two amazing kids—Alfonso and Luis —and now I'm about to start all over again?

Am I really ready for this?

I stare at the test, my fingers trembling. Parang isang malaking sign na may nakasulat na "good luck!" And lahat ng memories from Alfonso and Luis' baby days started flashing back sa isip ko—yung walang tulog, endless diaper changes, yung moments na you don't know what you're doing but you do it anyway kasi mahal mo sila.

Kaya nga I'm here now, holding another pregnancy test, not because I planned this, but because... well, life happens.

I shout, "Greggy!" a little louder than I intended,  my voice echoing off the tiled walls. Shocks.

I need backup.

A few seconds later, Greggy walks in, still mid-yawn, wearing his usual lounge clothes, looking like he hasn't processed life yet. Typical.

"Dear? Bakit?" he asks, half-asleep pa rin, eyes barely open.

"Something wrong?"

I don't say anything right away, instead holding up the test for him to see. His eyes squint at it like he's trying to figure out some alien message.

Then it clicks—he blinks once, then twice—his eyes go wide, and he gasps, his mouth hanging open like he just saw a ghost.

"Wait... PREGNANT ka ulit?!"

I nod slowly, biting my lip.

"Uh-huh." I don't know if I'm more nervous or excited, or both. Is that even possible?

Greggy stares at me, stunned, his expression frozen. For a second, I think he's in shock, but then he breaks into this huge, goofy grin, his eyes lighting up like it's Christmas morning.

"Mommy! Another baby!"

Before I know it, he's wrapping me in a tight hug, lifting me slightly off the ground like we just won some jackpot. "This is amazing!"

I laugh, a little awkward, because honestly, amazing wasn't the first word that came to mind.

"I don't know, Greggy... are we really ready for this? We're outnumbered na nga with Alfonso and Luis. Paano pa kaya 'pag may baby girl? I hope, babae 'to."

Greggy leans back a little, giving me this look, eyes twinkling. "A girl? Wow. A mini-you, huh? Kaya natin 'to. Third baby's the charm." He pats my still-flat stomach with a smug grin.

I raise an eyebrow at him. "Third baby's the charm? You said that after the second one!"

He chuckles, then kisses my forehead. "True, but we survived, didn't we? Kaya natin 'to. We're pros by now."

A few months later, the reality of having another baby was starting to sink in. Every day, I felt the changes—my body adjusting to this new life growing inside me. But then, there was the fun part: the gender reveal.

Greggy and I decided to keep it simple, pero hello, who am I kidding? There's no such thing as simple in our family. The boys—Alfonso and Luis—were buzzing with excitement like they were the ones about to have a baby. Luis even told his classmates na he's going to have a baby sister, confident na confident na babae ito. Meanwhile, si Alfonso, being the logical one, kept saying, "Mom, it's definitely another boy. Feeling ko lang, okay?"
