Ok, don't panic. Don't panic. Do not gay panic. Even though she doesn't identify as gay. She sets the food down and grabs the plates and forks. She takes a deep breath before heading upstairs. She knocks on the door. "Malia-baby?" "Yeah Kylie-boo?" "The food is here." "Ok, I'll be right out." She hears Malia get out of the water so she walks back downstairs and fills her plate. She leaves it on the table and fills her own plate. As she's grabbing some apple cidar out of the fridge, Malia walks into the dining room. "Hey!" She kisses her cheek. "Hey, you! How was your bath?" Kylie smiles. "Oh it was so relaxing."
They sit and eat and watch some Hulu. Kylie glances at the window from time to time. Maybe she's being paranoid. But knowing her shooter was still out there didn't sit well with her. She knows the PI is doing everything he can but it was still nerve racking. They eventually feel themselves starting to fall asleep so they clean up and head to bed. Around 4AM, Kylie's body jolts awake. The feeling in the pit of her stomach was too strong to ignore. She looks around and everything seems normal but not at the same time. She gently shakes Malia. "Baby, baby wake up." Malia groans and turns towards her. "Hmm?" "Wake up. Something doesn't feel right." A noise downstairs jolts them both wide awake. It wasn't a loud noise. More like a floor creaking. But definitely still not something you should be hearing when you and your wife are the only ones in the house. Or at least, should be the only one.
"Call the police, I'm calling Mel." She whispered. Kylie gets up, phone to her ear and locks the bedroom door. It rings twice before Mel answers. "Kylie, you ok?" "No, someone's in the house." She whispered. "Malia is calling the police right now." She hears shuffling on the side. "Ky, listen to me, i need you and Malia to go to your closet and lock yourselves inside." She glanced at the walk in closet. "The closet?" "Just do it." She grabs Malia's hand and heads to the closet, locking it behind them. "Now what?" "Hold on, I'm pulling up your security cameras. I'm on my way." She hears more shuffling on the phone as Malia heads to the back of the closet. She comes back out with a gun in her hand and a bullet proof vest on. "What the hell?" "I'm tired of living in fear. I'm gonna kill him myself." Malia loads the gun and puts the safety on like Mel showed her and Kylie.
"Malia, you're pregnant. What about the baby?" Kylie grabs the gun. "Well, then she'll know how much of a badass her mommy was. Is." Malia shrugs. She takes her gun back. "I want to end, once and for all, don't you?" Kylie sighs and nods. "Yes. Alright fine, but we are not going out there. We play defense and wait for him." They both take their positions in two separate corners. Eyes never once leaving the door. Gun in hand, pointed at door, ready for anything. Mel was still on the phone. "I'm outside, police are two minutes away." She whispered. "Ky, there's a car outside." No doubt, his car. "Where are you?" She whispered. "I parked down the street. The police are here, I'm coming in." Suddenly the door bursts open as they both open fire. The masked man, not even took a single shot yet, falls to the ground, lifeless. The police storm in as soon as they hear gunshots with Mel close behind.
She runs up to them and hugs them both tightly. "Oh thank god. You're both ok." She pulls away slightly and touches Malia's stomach. "You're all ok." The police takes off his mask. "Oh my god, is that the lawyer from the trial?" Malia gasps. "It is." Kylie sighs. They take his body awake and ask them all questions. It was getting later so they tried to wrap up quickly. "Last question ma'am. We checked his records and his recent activity. Were you aware that he was visiting your father in prison?" Malia tenses. She hasn't even thought about her father for months. Almost a year. "He saw my dad in prison?" "Yes, multiple times according to our records. Was he working with him? Do you think?" "Um, i don't know. I guess it's possible." He nods. "If that's the case, then we'll need to move him a more built holding facility." Malia knew what he meant. A maximum penitentiary. She won't be able to visit him if she wanted. She never gave her dad much thought beforehand let alone after the incident. But now, maybe she should. For her own peace of mind.
