The vacation

Part 12

Lucy was now 8 months pregnant and it was her last day at the station before maternity leave
Lucy's POV
I wake up next to Tim who is still sleeping, I realize quickly that I have work today
I roll over unraveling myself from Tim's arms carefully to not wake him. I look over at the nightstand and the clock reads 6:00 am
I jump up from the bed, shaking Tim to get up
L: Tim, Baby wake up
T: what honey, are the babies okay?
L: yeah the babies are fine we need to get ready for work it's 6:00 am roll call starts at 8:00 am
He jumps up from the bed and walks to the bathroom to quickly shower while I take Kojo outside
I walk back into the bedroom to get changed into a silky black blouse and a white skirt
I leave my hair down in loose waves and put in some small hoops and brush my teeth and do my makeup, I walk into the kitchen to see Tim making us coffee
L: hey, thanks for the coffee
T: of course, it's decaf obviously
L: yeah.
T: you look beautiful babe
L: mm thank you, you don't look so bad yourself
I walk up to him and give him a short kiss before going over to Kojo's food bowl and pour him some dog food before we leave for work
We head out the door and Tim helps me into the truck because it's higher off the ground and I can't climb up myself because of my humongous baby bump
T: your gonna pop anytime now, this better be your last day at work
L: I know, and yes it's my last day, I'm probably going to spend the next month in the couch binging true crime shows
Tim chuckles
As we arrive at the station I walk into the locker room to get changed into my uniform and head into roll call
I sit next to Tim and Angela
G: Okay settle down, settle down. Bradford your with Nolan Chen your station bound.
Also officer Chen that uniform won't do
L: what?
G: I'd like to congratulate our newest Detective Lucy Chen
He takes out my Detective badge and I walk up to take it from him
L: thank you sir
I walk up to back to my seat to see Tim smiling at me, proud
T: good job honey
L: thanks
I say smiling at him
After roll call is finished I go back to the locker room to change back into plain clothes
I walk out of the locker room my badge in hand and meet Tim in the hallway
He pins my badge on and gives me a kiss on the cheek
T: i love you
L: I love you stay safe.
T: I always am, and congratulations baby, I'll make dinner tonight and we can cuddle up on the couch and binge some true crime, or top chef
L: ooh yes that sounds perfect
He chuckles
T: okay, I'll see you at end of shift, enjoy your last day
L: okay, bye
We part ways and I work on a few cases with Angela and Nyla until end of shift
I walk into the watch commanders office and hand grey my papers signing off for maternity leave
As I leave into the parking lot I wait for Tim by his truck
He comes out around five minutes later and kisses me asking about my day before heading home
L: it was good, I really enjoyed my first day as Detective
T: that's good babe but I bet it would sound better as ' Detective Bradford'
L: of course it would
I say smiling
L: how was your day?
T: it was decent, Nolan talked a lot as usual, I got called to a few 10-80's ( fire alarm) and some 10-55's ( intoxicated driver)
L: mm okay, what are you making for dinner?
T: Chicken Alfredo?
L: OMG yes!
Tim chuckled
T: Alfredo it is then
We arrive home and get into the house
I go into our bedroom to change into some sweats while Tim lets Kojo outside
I walk out and sit down on the couch
Tim makes dinner and sits down with me I snuggle up to him and we watch true crime and eat dinner and after I lay my head on Tim's lap and he rests his hand on my bump, after a while I slowly fall asleep
Tim's POV
As me and Lucy are snuggling up on the couch Lucy rests her head on my lap and I put my hand on her bump feeling slight movements from the twins I look down to realize she had fallen asleep. I turn the TV off and carry her into our bedroom and carefully place her on the bed and pull the duvet over her before lying down on the other side of the bed and laying my arm over her and kiss her on the head before falling asleep next to her
