Ten
EstrelWhen I opened my eyes I was met with blinding lights and the terrorizing smell of sterilized tools.
When I heard the clattering of a tray with instruments and felt the leather binding my wrists and ankles I panted heavily.
No. No. No. No. No.
I yanked and pulled in a panic. The leather straps creaked against the metal and when my ears twitched, I didn't hear my earrings.
This was real.
Tears prickled my eyes and bile rose up my throat. I turned to the side and vomited, inevitably getting some on me. I sobbed and screamed into the empty room. I shuddered in breaths only to shout them out. I jerked on the operating table again and again, most voluntarily but some panicked twitches. I whimpered before jolting up and puking as far from me as I could. I shuddered at the burning sensation in my stomach. Sweat plastered my back to the metal table and when the door opened I yelled obscenities at the white-coated doctor.
She seemed unimpressed, "Glad to have you back three-twelve. We left off on project two seventy-three. Removal of reproductive organs to record hormonal changes. I've run scans and tests. It seems we made a mistake. We will be going back in and fixing you." She snorted, "At least we'll try."
I shook my head and pleaded in gibberish.
She hummed, unbothered, wheeling in the cart.
She had seven syringes full of different-looking chemicals.
She picked up a black syringe and to my horror, she walked up to the side of my face. I looked at her, pleading through my gaze after my words didn't work. Before I could do anything, she swung over an extension to the table, holding my head in place. She hummed happily as the needle sunk into my eye.
I didn't make it four syringes before I passed out cold.

When I jolted awake I immediately noticed I couldn't breathe. I couldn't move. My organs laid dormant and even as I tried to take a deep breath it was like my body had forgotten how. Intense burning in my lungs and a sour taste in my mouth was all I could register before I finally snapped out of the paralyzation. Gasping for breath as tears rolled down the sides of my face. I reached up to grab my throat but was brutally reminded I couldn't right before it happened again, my throat spasming when it fought the restriction. It happened again and again and only when my muscles tightened did a white coat walk in. They switched something off and scribbled something on his clipboard. I looked at him with bleary eyes.
"P-ple..." The word couldn't make it out of my mouth and I let out another guttural sob.
"You want new piercings? If not, shut up. They can hear you in cell block 7." He hissed and slammed the clipboard down, making me flinch and whimper. He yanked out the table's extension to hold my face and before I could shake my head and plead some more it trapped my head and face down roughly. A bright light blinded my right eye and burned my left one. I immediately screwed my eyes shut. He pried my left eye open, all I could see was black but it burned at the light, it burned so bad I could barely breathe. I writhed on the table and cried quietly. When he poured a solution into it, it hurt less and he let my eyes close. All before I felt a needle poke my eyelid. I tried to shoot open my eyes but he pinched my eyelids together. He started sewing my eyelids together and I twitched and writhed in pain. He wiped roughly at my eye leaving burning in its wake. I was crying dryly by the time he finished and my fists were clenched impossibly tight.
"No more crying. I'll give you more piercings if he has a problem. Understood?"
A shaky breath left between my lips and I shuddered at the cold temperature.
"We'll be taking you in for a real removal later on. Until then, I heard you seduced a Kazcta. We'll be taking many samples from you to see how his venom transferred to you." He wrote something else on the paper before shoving the clipboard into a pocket wall. An ounce of resentment was there. It faded compared to everything else miserable, but it was there.
Attor's fault. In a fucked way...I knew. Attor didn't choose to get to know me. It wasn't really him who cared. He was someone sent to get me back.
"We'll also be drawing lots of fluids from you, more than usual. You have something that we haven't seen. Something so pungent it drove a Kazcta wild. If we can capture that essence, It'll be good."
I wanted to scream and yell at him. To spit and claw and rip his throat out with my teeth but the leather holding me down to the table kept me 'in check'. So did the absolute horror of what they'd do to me. They've already mentioned piercings.
I shuddered, pushing the metal sphere against the roof of my tongue. They had sewn my mouth once...They'd do it again.
I wanted to talk. To tell him that it wasn't impossible to like me for who I was but even I doubted that.
I bit back tears that struggled to even appear after shedding so many.
I stiffened when he put on gloves. I stared up at him wildly. He forced my mouth open and I shouted at him to stop though it came out garbled. When he grabbed a pair of small pliers I jerked and strained against the surgical table, screaming in white visioned panic. He paused.
"Ah, of course." He took off his gloves and threw them in the trash. He pulled down a screen I had never seen before, "See what you missed? We got new screens while you were off spreading your legs like a nasty thing. Perfect for conditioning." He was back beside me with gloves and the pliers. Pure confusion made me a statue for a second. The screen started showing a picture of a Goont. A small, harmless, creature that was usually livestock. It was dark blue and fluffy. I stared at it-I didn't have a choice. He pushed his fingers between my jaws, forcing them open. The next thing I knew, the pliers closed around one of my back molars.
Pain seared itself into my brain. Unforgettable.
