"Mama!" I heard a small voice scream. I felt my bed moving around and smiled.

"Good morning, princess." I said softly, stroking her hair.

"Hungry!" She screamed, pointing at her belly. I laughed.

"Pancakes?" I suggested. Her blue eyes lit up and she nodded vigorously, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of bed.

I made Madi a Mickey Mouse pancake and sat her in front of the coffee table in the living room to watch her morning cartoons.

Amber stumbled out of her room groggily while I smiled at her. Her blonde hair was sticking up in every direction. The poor thing looked like a zombie.

"I hope Chad doesn't mind your morning look." I said bluntly.

She shrugged and yawned. "He asked me to move in so I guess he doesn't."

I smiled at my best friend. She didn't show it but she fell hard for this guy. When he first asked her to move in she said no because she didn't want to leave Madi and I. I practically forced her to say yes, telling her we'd be fine.

So in a few days Amber will be moving in with Chad who lives about an hour away from us. We'll ll still see each other from time to time. It'll be hard though. Amber will be starting a new job soon, I'll be starting University in a week. As for my job, the only thing I'll have time for is Madi.

"Mm. Pancakes." She smiled. "I'm going to miss your pancakes." Amber grabbed a plate of pancakes and sat on the couch behind Madi.

After Amber left for work I decided I would take Madi out for a mommy/daughter day. It was rare that I got a day off so I was more than grateful.

"Madi! Be careful!" I called out as she ran around the jungle gym. She had found herself a little boy to play with so I sat on the bench watching them play together. She looked so happy.

"Your daughter is beautiful." I heard a a deep voice beside me. I looked to my left and sitting by me on the bench was an insanely gorgeous man. He had shaggy, dirty blonde hair, and bright green eyes. He was built- but not the nasty kind of built. The hot kind. He was wearing a grey T-shirt that molded to his body perfectly and a pair of dark washed jeans.

Realizing I was checking him out I blushed.

"Thank you." I said quietly.

He smirked at me, causing me to blush even more.

"That's my nephew." He said, pointing to the little boy playing with Madi. "I have him for the day." I nodded and smiled at the two kids.

"They seem to like each other."

"Yeah they do." He smiled.

"Mama!" Madi shouted, waving me over to her. I smiled and walked towards her, kneeling next to her when I got there. "Mama, look." She said pointing to a glob of sand. "I built a castle!" She squealed happily.

"It's beautiful, baby." I cooed.

"Mama, this is Tyler." She said. "He's my new boyfriend." Madi smiled proudly and I rose my eyebrow at her.

"Oh yeah?" Madi nodded excitedly.

"Can he get ice cream with us?" She asked, her face lit up with excitement and she stuck out her bottom lip. I sighed. I couldn't say no to her when she did that and she knew it to.

"Ask his uncle first." I said. She nodded and ran towards Tyler's uncle. Madi isn't really a shy girl. She's very outgoing, but I don't think I've ever seen her just go up to someone.

I looked at Tyler who was looking at his hands with pink cheeks. I smiled and reached out my hand for him to take. He looked at it for a minute before grabbing my head and walking to his uncle and Madi.

Ten minutes later I found myself sitting at a booth in the ice cream shop with Tyler's uncle. Madi and Tyler sat at their own table insisting they were on a 'date'.

Where she heard that I had no idea.

"What's your name?" He asked me, scooping some of his ice cream.

"Isabella, but everyone calls me Bella." I said. He nodded and stuck his hand out.

"I'm Caleb." I reluctantly shook his hand and he smiled at me. "So, how old is Madi?"

"3." I smiled at that. I loved talking about Madi. I'm pretty sure people got annoyed sometimes but I couldn't help it. "Tyler?" I asked.

"Four." He said. "Where's her dad this evening?"

My smile faded and I looked down at my hands. I wasn't sure what to say. I hated talking about her dad. It brought back memories Id rather not relive.

"He's um, he's not around." I said, keeping it simple. I didn't know this man. He didn't need to know about anything to do with Madi's dad.

"Oh." He cleared his throat and scratched his neck awkwardly.

I briefly looked at the kids table. Madi was kicking her feet and licking her ice cream happily while Tyler watched her in awe.

I smiled at the two.

"Looks like someone's got a crush." I said. Caleb nodded and continued to look at me. I found myself staring back into his beautiful eyes, instantly getting nervous.

He was an attractive man, don't get me wrong but I'd never go for him. I don't like nor want a relationship. The only people I need are Madi, my mom, and Amber.

Yeah, my circle was pretty small but I wouldn't have it any other way.
