Scattered Petals (Giyu Tomioka X OC)

Chapter 29

Misaki's P. O. V:

I use my Sakura Slash: Ten Fold technique to ward off my opponents' attack as Giyu slashes with his nichirin katana. We keep this up for a solid few minutes.

"Water Breathing, Third Form: Flowing Dance," Says Giyu, twisting his water covered sword along his body as he glides for the female demon. As she dodges, I notice his water sword washing a few of the flowers away and the land on the ground.

"Water Surface Slash!" Giyu swings his sword in an arc that narrowly misses the demons' neck but cuts through and douses more flowers.

"Giyu!" I gasp in realisation, gaining his attention. "I think the flowers' weakness is water! Your Water Breathing douses them and wastes them away."

His own eyes fill with understanding as he cuts down a few more fire flowers the demon sends at us.

A couple of the flowers land on Giyu's right arm, causing his eyes to widen as they burn him, and he hisses as another one lands right on his foot.

"Yu-kun!" I exclaim, cutting down more flowers.

"Blaze Petals Blood Demon Art: Flame Lotus Spiral!" She moves in a spiralling manner that eventually creates a huge cyclone of flowers covered in fire that heads towards Giyu and I.

We dive out of the way to evade it but Giyu stumbles due to his burnt foot. The cyclone heads right for him and I grit my teeth as I put on a burst of speed.

I get to my boyfriend in time and grab him before Body Flickering out of the way in time and get us to a safe spot in an alleyway, away from the demoness.

"This doesn't look good," I say as I study his burnt arm and foot. I crouch down to get a closer look at Giyu's foot. The fire flower had burned through his white sock. "How does your foot feel?"

"It's not as bad as it looks," Replies Tge Tomioka. "I can still—" He cuts himself off as he hisses and winces at the pain.

I straighten as I look at him. "It does look bad. I think you should sit the rest of this fight out."

"But it's as you said: the demons' weakness is water, and I'm the only one here who uses Water Breathing," Giyu insists, holding my gaze. "I can still fight, Misa-chan. Don't worry about me. We have to stop that demon before they have the chance to eat anyone in this village."

Giyu and I stare each other down for a long time. Finally, I let out a sigh and avert my gaze.

"Alright. But if your injuries get worse, you're not to fight anymore. I don't want to lose you, okay?" I tell him. Giyu nods his head in agreement.

"Okay. Let's go and finish this," He says, and I notice that he's limping ever so slightly, no doubt trying to hide his pain.

I sigh again as I follow Giyu back to the fire flower demoness.
