synopsis: there's a new teacher at reefside high school, and apart from enlightening the curious minds of her new students, she unexpectedly turns a few heads - and the one that will catch her eye is none other than dr. tommy oliver.

warnings: brief mentions of violence.

word count: 3,076 words.

author's note: i know this is a fem!reader fic, but i purposefully gave a detailed description of said reader.

i did this, because i wanted to make it clear that i was writing a woman of color, and i personally figured that whoever is reading this would either picture the reader as someone who wasn't a person of color or someone who resembles themselves.

it's not a bad thing, i get it, but at the same time, i'm writing this, and this is what i'm gonna do here. i gotta give some representation here in my fics, and on wattpad, so do not downplay this or complain about it, PLEASE.

also, i lowkey think that this might not do well like my others, but i'm gonna post it anyway, because i'm proud of this and that i wanna test the waters!! :>

and lastly, rest in peace, jason david frank. ❤️

a pair of jet black stiletto heels rapidly click against the vinyl floorings of reefside high school's hallways. ms. l/n, the new teacher, steadily passes through the semi-busy corridors, unintentionally turning a few heads of curious students.

every so often, she'll pass by a student or a group and nod with a smile, as a way to not seem unapproachable or mean. last time she made a bad first impression on her first day, she was let go before she was even hired - and that was just during her trial period.

it was mostly out of nervousness and that tiny fear of screwing up on her first day - which, ironically, was what transpired in the end.

ever since then, she'd often blame herself for how her last opportunity came out and the situation that she is currently in now.

she purges the unpleasant thoughts from her mind, as she rounds a corner with a deep exhale.

she stops in front of a wooden door, and looks up at the embedded nameplate in bold letters - principal randall. she lets out another nervous sigh, as she grips the handles of her dark, leather briefcase.

"this is it," she mutters. "this is the very place that decides my fate."

she takes a tiny step forward, and places a shaky hand on the silver doorknob. she stays like that for a long moment, wondering if she was going to be rejected like last time.

she almost lets go of the doorknob, but a surge of confidence forces her to inhale sharply, and lift her hand to quickly rap on the door. a couple seconds later, an annoyed voice tells her to enter, which oddly calms l/n's ever-growing nerves.

she takes another moment to breathe properly, oblivious to the wandering stares of passing students. she places her hand back on the doorknob, and turns it.

she steps inside the cold office, and mentally prepares herself to interact with the infamous principal randall - the scariest principal to ever come out of reefside.

rushing down the long corridor and towards his classroom is none other than doctor tommy oliver.
