I was sitting in a hospital room in Rochester, New York. No, there was nothing wrong with me. It was my mother. She was pretty old, and nearing the end of her time. "Abigail." my mother said. Her voice was weak. "I'm here, Mom." I said, taking her hand. "There's something I need to tell you." my mom said. "You have a younger sister." my mind immediately jumped to Thalia Skywalker, the youngest player on the US Women's National team. She was seventeen this year, when most of the rest of us were in our twenties. We'd formed a deep bond, and we were a lot alike, almost like sisters. "How much younger?" I asked. "Five years." Mom replied. That was a check, then. Thalia was five years younger than I was. When I was twenty, she had joined the team at the age of fifteen. "Abigail, you know you look a lot like your father." my mother said. "Well, your sister took after me. She never grew up with us. We couldn't have taken care of her, so we put her up for adoption. She was adopted by a nice young couple with the last name Skywalker, who liked the name we'd given her: Thalia, So they kept it. Anyway, the doctor could tell when she was born that she'd look a lot like me. Bright green eyes, long black hair, on the short side with a narrow build. The Skywalkers lived in St. Louis, I think." "Mom, I know a girl who fits that description, her name is Thalia Skywalker, and she lives in St. Louis!" I said. "She plays on the National Team with me. We've always been really close, and we're a lot alike." "That may be her, then." Mom said, smiling. "You'll want to do a DNA test to be sure, though. Goodbye, Abigail." she closed her eyes, and fell asleep for the last time. tears pricked at my eyes. "Bye, Mom." I whispered. I went back home and opened my computer, checking Skype. Thalia was online, so I clicked on her icon and moments later, her grinning, freckled face appeared on my screen. "Hey, Sis!" she said. "Hey, Squirt." I said. "You look a bit shaken. Wassup?" Thalia asked. "The 'rents kicked the bucket today." I said. "Oh, no!" Thalia said. "I'm sorry." "It's alright." I said. "It was their time. My mom told me something interesting before she passed, though." I told Thalia what my mom had told me. "So we might be legit sisters?" Thalia asked when I was done. "Yup." I said. "You wouldn't mind taking a trip to Rochester so we could do a DNA test and find out, would you?" "Not at all!" Thalia said. "It's hella boring here, anyways." "Alrighty then!" I said. "See you soon, squirt!" "See ya!" she said. A few hours later, I picked Thalia up at the airport. We hugged. "Nice to see you in person again, Squirt." I said. "You too." she said. "Welcome to my humble home." I said twenty minutes later as I opened the door. I showed her to the guest room. "Wanna play some ball?" I asked once she got situated. "There's a soccer field down the street." "Hell yeah!" she said. "I'm always in the mood, there's just no one good enough around St. Louis." we went down to the park and played for a few hours, then had dinner and called it a night. The next day, we went to the lab and had blood drawn for the DNA test. "When will we get the results?" I asked. "In two days." the lab worker said. Two days later, I got an envelope from the lab. I opened it and pulled the sheet of paper out. The result of your test was positive. It read. positive. "Hey, Squirt." I said, coming into the living room where Thalia was sitting and working on her computer. "What?" she asked, looking up. "We're official." I said. "We're sisters." we hugged. "So, the big question is, do you want to stay in St. Louis or do you want to live here?" I asked. "I'll stay in St. Louis." Thalia said. "AMDA in New York City has told me that if I want to come, I'm in. What do you call it...early recruiting? That. I think that's where I want to go to college, but I'll do senior year at Riverdale." "Alright." I said. "I love you, Squirt." "Love you too, Sis." she said
