"Rise and shine!" I hear Kie shout as she opens the shades letting the sunlight in, instantly causing my skin to heat up.

"Ugh Kie what the hell," I moan as I roll over and cover my face with a pillow.

Kiara rips the pillow from my grip and tosses it on the floor.

"It's quite literally 1 in the afternoon, you've been sleeping all day and I want to actually do something!"

I slowly sit up. The room is spinning. I definitely drank too much last night.

"Ah there's the birthday girl! How's it feel to be another year older?" John B loudly announces as he enters the room with Sarah by his side holding his hand.

I flash a middle finger in his direction, I know his volume level was chosen purposefully.

"Here, this will help." Sarah says as she tosses me a brown paper bag with a smile.

I open the bag and find an everything bagel slathered with cream cheese inside. My favorite.

"Ugh Sarah you're the best" I say as I remove the bagel from the bag.

"Hey! It was my idea" John B. exclaims.

"Yeah yeah yeah, whatever" I say as I continue to take large bites of my bagel.

"Alright, who is up for a surf?!" JJ says loudly as he enters the living room where we all were seated.

"Jesus, why is everyone so loud this morning?" I responded.

"Q, you need to learn how to handle your alcohol better." JJ says with a smirk as he sits down on the couch with me.

Quinn is my name, but almost everyone calls me Q.

He wraps his arm around my shoulders, points to my bagel, and opens his mouth, making it clear that he wants me to share.

I roll my eyes and rip a small piece of my bagel off which I place between his lips.

JJ and I have always had a flirty relationship, but we've never crossed the line to explore anything else.

I mean, the first rule of our crew is no Pouge on Pouge macking.

"I wouldn't be hungover anymore if you handed me that beer can that's next to you." I say with a smile, finishing the last bite of my bagel.

"My lady" JJ says as he kneels down in front of me raising the drink up above his head.

I laugh as I take a swig of the lukewarm beer.

"Wait, where's Pope?" JJ asks, noticing the missing friend.

"He said he had to help his dad with some stuff. He'll catch up with us later. Now can we please go to the beach?" Kiara says as she jumps up from her spot at the kitchen table.

We all look around at one another, shrugging our shoulders in agreement.

"To the beach we go!" JJ announces, and I can't help but smile.

All is right when I'm surrounded by these idiots.
