hello, many of you dont want this book to end , i'm thinking of another book soon:)

——

The house was alive with the kind of chaos that only the first day of school could bring. After two years of homeschooling, Yoko had finally decided that it was time for Faith and Hope to step into the real world of school. While the decision had weighed on her, convincing herself it was best for the twins, the morning rush made her question if she was ready. Her heart tugged in a hundred directions at once, torn between the desire to protect them and the bittersweet reality of watching them grow up.

"Hope, baby, you can't wear that. It's school, not a party," Yoko pleaded, staring at the explosion of glitter that was Hope's favorite dress—rainbows, sparkles, and all the things that made her daughter's heart sing. As much as Yoko loved Hope's vibrant personality, she knew this dress wasn't school appropriate.

But Hope, ever the charmer, turned to Faye, her big eyes gleaming with mischief. "Dada?" she asked, drawing out the word as sweetly as she could, hoping Faye would rescue her from Yoko's wardrobe rules. The little girl knew exactly how to get her way with both her parents, but this time, it wasn't going to be that easy.

Faye, in the middle of buttoning Faith's crisp shirt, paused and glanced at her sparkling daughter. She couldn't help but smile at Hope's adorable attempt. "Dada can't help you this time, princess," Faye said gently but firmly, her voice full of warmth. "You need to listen to Mama today."

Hope's pout was instantaneous, her lower lip sticking out dramatically as she sulked. But when it came to school rules, even her beloved dada couldn't bend the rules for her. She sighed, finally accepting defeat, and turned back to Yoko, who was ready with a compromise.

"Tell you what, baby," Yoko said softly, kneeling in front of Hope and holding up a delicate pink ribbon. "Mama will put this pretty ribbon in your hair. You'll still look like a princess, my good girl."

Hope's pout quickly vanished, and her face lit up. "Pink ribbon!" she cheered, clapping her hands excitedly as Yoko tied her daughter's hair into a perfect ponytail. There was something so pure and innocent about Hope's excitement, and it warmed Yoko's heart.

With Hope now satisfied, Yoko turned to Faith, who sat calmly on the edge of the bed, completely unbothered by the whirlwind around her. While Hope was all energy, glitter, and sparkle, Faith was the opposite—quiet, thoughtful, and precise in her choices. Today was no different. She had already decided against the skirt Yoko had laid out and opted for shorts, a button-up shirt, and a small black Prada bag that slung effortlessly over her shoulder. She was, without a doubt, a mini version of Faye—cool, collected, and with a taste for the finer things.

Faye was now carefully tying Faith's hair into a messy bun, just like her own signature style. But as much as Faye tried, she was a little clumsy with the finer details, her large hands fumbling with the tiny elastic.

"Come here, Faith," Yoko said gently, stepping in to help. "Mama will fix it." Faith, ever patient, tilted her head and let Yoko smooth out the bun and straighten her collar. The quiet bond between them was something Yoko cherished. Faith may have been the quieter one, but her love was as deep as any child's.

"You look so handsome, just like Dada," Yoko said with a smile, unable to resist complimenting her daughter.

Faith's small face lit up, her dimples—the same dimples both girls had inherited from their parents—deepening as she smiled back. "I'm gonna miss you, Mama," she whispered softly, her voice full of sincerity.

Yoko's heart ached in the sweetest way, her throat tightening with emotion. "Me too, baby... me too." She had to fight the urge to hold her little girl forever, but today wasn't about her. Today was about letting go, even if just a little.
