Leo and I were lucky that my brother was a deep sleeper, since we were able to hang out in the middle of the night secretly. Currently we were seated on my bed as we played a round of Go Fish from a standard deck of cards. We had to make sure to keep our voices down low and to not use a bright light to draw attention. I just currently had my bedside lamp glowing as we sat across from each other.

"Do you have any 9's," I whispered before he shook his head.

"No, go fish," he replied, me digging through the pile in the middle of us.

"Are you having fun?" I quietly giggled after looking at my current hand.

"Yeah, do you want anything to eat or drink? I can sneak into the kitchen for you."

I thought for a moment as I glanced at my shut door. "Gummy bears and water sounds good. Do you know where the gummy bears are?"

"Yeah, they're in that drawer in the kitchen, right," he double checked.

"Right," I confirmed, watching as he managed to exit the room without making a sound. I patiently waited as I just let my mind wander to random topics. When he returned my eyes lit up when I saw the cold pizza he had brought too. "I didn't even think about getting that."

"Yeah, Malachi and I weren't able to finish our order from Pizza Hut earlier."

"What kind is it?" I could already see a few toppings as he placed a dark blue paper plate in front of me. He had also brought potato chips in along with french onion dip.

"Supreme." He brushed his hair back before handing me a glass of water. I carefully put it on the purple flower coaster that I had on my nightstand.

"Do you need a place to put your water too?"

"Nah, I just used the reusable water bottle that Malachi gave me. It doesn't spill, so I can lay it down or whatever."

I nodded before holding back a laugh at how quiet I was trying to chew the chips, him looking at me in amusement.

"I don't think we have to be that quiet," he emphasized, me placing my hand over my mouth so my laughter wouldn't get loud.

"So, what do you want to do tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow? I think we're having trouble just getting through tonight," he lowly chuckled.

"Well, Miriam's coming over, so she might be able to distract my brother for us."

"You want to watch Full House together or go down to the park?"

"Maybe we could do both if we played our cards right."

"You mean these cards," he teased, causing me to roll my eyes playfully.

"I think you're getting tired."

"Hey, you're the one who's keeping me up," he defended, causing me to giggle extra quietly.

"But seriously, would you want to try to do both?"

"Alright, but I still need to spend time with Malachi. It wouldn't be right to him if we ran off together for the whole day."

"Okay, we could just try to get a couple of hours together like the other day. I mean, we're already hanging out now," I pointed out.

"I have no idea what time I'll be getting up tomorrow with how late we're playing this," he yawned, causing me to nod in agreement.

"Yeah, but Malachi loves sleeping in, so I don't think that'll be a problem. Miriam's not coming here until like noon."

"It's too bad we can't have a picnic in the park."

"Oh yeah, that would be really nice. Did you just think of that," I wondered as I finished up the crust on my pizza.

"I've been thinking about it ever since our date at McDonald's. I thought it was something you might like," he softly smiled, causing my heart to melt.

"Well, you were right. Funny how you're so good at knowing what I like when you spent years doing everything I hated."

"Yeah, well, I had to observe you a lot, so somehow I found out other things too."

"Really? Like what other things?" I was faintly smirking at this point, despite the fact my heart rate had sped up significantly.

"Like... You'll find out on our future dates," he finished, his face a bit red.

"Okay, I'm looking forward to it," I smiled to myself, scooping more of the onion dip onto my chip.

Leo ended up winning the last round of Go Fish, but I had won the previous two games. He actually fell asleep on my bed for awhile, but I just enjoyed being cuddled up to him. I made sure not to drift off to dreamland, so that I could keep an eye on the clock. I knew that he should start heading back to my brother's room before six in the morning. I kept listening to his steady heartbeat, his even breathing soothing me. I was about to nod off before I jerked awake, since I hadn't realized how late it had gotten. Thankfully I was able to wake up Leo so that he could leave my room in time.

Leo spent most of the morning watching television with Malachi, them hooked on classic episodes of The Twilight Zone. I just sat in the kitchen as I tried to read my book, but I was always half distracted, since I was anxious to spend time with Leo later. I nearly jumped when Miriam knocked on our screen door, jumping up to answer it. I purposely stepped outside at first and closed the wooden door behind me too.

"What is it," Miriam asked.

"Can you distract my brother today? Leo and I wanted to watch Full House together, and then spend time at the park later. It would only be for like an hour at a time."

"Don't worry, I'm on it. But also, you could watch t.v. with me and your brother around too."

"Yeah, but we wouldn't be able to cuddle and hold hands."

"Wow, you really have it bad," she teased, causing me to blush a bit.

"Shut up...," I dragged out, but I was smiling as we ventured back indoors.

"Um... I lost my hair scrunchie in the yard. Can you help me find it, Malachi," she questioned.

"Why can't Eliza help you," he scoffed.

"Because you're better at finding things. Please? It's green like the grass, so it's really hard to find."

"I don't think it could've gotten far." He stood up to follow her outdoors, Leo and I stuck like glue on a section of the couch, where we weren't visible from outside. Plus, it helped that the curtains were still drawn, so the sun wouldn't glare off the t.v. screen. I knew I would be able to relax with my best friend having my back, Leo and I somehow able to enjoy two full episodes of my favorite show. We even kissed for awhile as we held onto each other during the commercial breaks. The second we heard the main door opening we made sure to slide apart.

"I can't believe it was underneath the porch. How did it do that? It's not even that small," Malachi commented.

"It must've been the wind," Miriam shrugged innocently, but she shot me a secret wink.

I was able to spend quite a bit of time with her playing the game, Aggravation before we were able to convince my brother to go down to the park. He was just going to ride skateboards with Leo, but Miriam came to the rescue again. She pretended that she twisted her ankle and that Leo and I needed to get help. My brother had to stay with her while we ran off together, taking a nice walk along the trail that went through the forest. My favorite part was when Leo started twirling me around in a dance, him cupping my face in his hands to kiss me afterwards. Even though we originally planned to be gone longer, we just felt too guilty about lying to Malachi to do that.

"Sorry, we couldn't find anyone," I claimed when we returned.

"That's okay. I think she's fine. Her ankle isn't swelling or anything, and she can move it without pain now," Malachi shared. I stole one last knowing glance with Leo before we did go our separate ways for the remainder of the day, but I wouldn't trade our small moments for anything.
